Oh wow! You all look wonderful and there are some inspiring posts, even without pictures. My Christmas dress shopping trip next Saturday - fingers crossed for something amazing it not 'spangly'. I am tempted by the polka dot dress.

I wasn't going to bother to buy anything then I happened to see a lovely floral fitted dress today in h&m. I tried on a 12 and a 14. Both fitted, but differently in different places so I bought neither.
I have a pair of M&S skinny jeans in a 10 that go up and down without undoing them and another that are really, really tight. I have another pair of really old ones from Debenhams that I mentioned a few months ago when I got them out of the charity bag in the garage when they just about went on. They go up and down too. What's all that about?
I would love a new dress or anything really but sizes seem well dodgy and I can't be bothered with all that trying on. Mind you, I think I would like to have another look at myself in those M&S changing room triple mirrors that gave me such a shock this time last year now there is 18lbs less of me

I won't post mine then as you'll all be sick
Doesn't 'sick' mean something else these days (according to I'm a Celeb)........
Yes ....Awesome .....which I bet is how Penny will look as am sure she is just kidding around
@minum and spanner--you two look wonderful!! Congratulations to all who are sporting new and smaller party clothes. Glad you had such a lovely shopping trip, @miffy
The other day I posted that this thread was inspiring me to try on everything in the party section of my closet. I came up with several very nice things that are now too big. Bit of a downer, though, when I took them to the local resale shop--they didn't want any of it! Too old-fashioned, nobody wears turtle neck or sleeveles shells (with silver holiday threads in it, too!), we're not taking any blazers, the mother-of the-groom outfit wouldn't sell, etc. etc.
Should I be surprised that a shop selling to so many college students doesn't want what seemed so wonderful (but too big) to a 70-year-old?
I'll try to get my holiday spirit back, now

I never watch it!
I shall gird the loins and get hub to take a photo.... be warned!
I have a lovely LBD from the 'thin' wardrobe which I haven't worn for some years. It's a classic style so I'm looking forward to a family party this weekend to show it off
I just had to say...I went shopping for a Christmas frock and bought one! IN A SIZE 16!!! Sorry about the shouting but it was a shock albeit a very happy one! (Obviously magic pants helped )
Picture please @Chickvic
I won't buy anything this year but will wear a christmassy top (red and sparkling) I last wore in 2000 and fit me now like a glove. That with a black pair of pants, it should be christmassy enough and classy at the same time
Oh Karen you look gorgeous! what a lovely outfit that shows off your tiny waist and fab figure to perfection!
woot woo! Lovely. You look fab! xxx
Great pic Karen (and love those shoes )
Oh yes, meant to mention the shoes too Karen...fabarooonie!they match the hat you were wearing in that clip you posted a while ago if my memory serves me right (not that it usually does!).
