Hi @Sue.Q, @gillymary and @daydreamer21 - good morning!

It's a public holiday here in Victoria (for labour day) so I'm enjoying some precious extra moments in bed before watering the garden - it's still so hot and dry here, a strong NW wind blowing today ahead of a front tomorrow. I had a beautiful swim at Ocean Grove yesterday after helping my friend with her BAS - now hoping to use that momentum to get started on my very overdue ones myself!

I'm fasting today too, Sue, so we can fast together, if a few hours apart. Hope you are feeling better! I know what you mean about not wanting to weigh - the stress of trying to avoid doing my tax just makes me eat!! So i won't weigh until later in the week, don't want to add any more pressure!

I've also got a trip to Europe brewing, to Warsaw in fact! For a conference in Worldwork in 6 weeks' time & I need to organise some of that today too - exciting! I'm actually combining it with an anaesthetics conference in Singapore on the way back, only decided to go last Friday. Btw, Worldwork is a method for working on world issues in a very large (around 300) group, using process psychology methods - often very heated but such a privilege! So excited!

Hope everyone has a good week - happy fasting, people!

Hi fasting buddies @gillymary@Daydreamer21And @jools7 Today I've put in a brilliant fast coming in just under 500 calories well chuffed.
My day started with a visit to the docs for a smear test these seem to be getting worse for me and was extremely painful and I've had "spotting" ever since I'm getting to old for this sort of torture. Lol
short walk in the lovely sunshine feeling good considering the events earlier in the day, will fast again on Wednesday because of commitments Tues + Thurs. Sue
Our ranks have swelled so ... welcome @Jo05 To ~fasting fivesome ~ hope the study not too taxing this week

Buddies @jools7 @Sue.Q @daydreamer21 we have our new member on board and a minor name change.

My fast Monday was ok and hope I can fast again by the weekend.

So how did the weekend paperwork pan out Sammy. Sue glad you had a good Fast, it certainly is encouraging when you nail it. Agree Sue those paptests don't get better, tug, but peace of mind is worth it I think. Wow jools Worldwork sounds interesting, I was in Warsaw 30 years ago brought back a lovely memento a chess set. I wish I could have been there longer as it was a flying visit when it was a very different place

Cheers buddies hope all going well for you all and will pop over to the mother ship to inform Julianna we have grown in numbers

Wow I'm so thrilled to be part of this group! Thank you so much to you all and thanks @gillymary sooo much indeed!

So thank you @jools7 @Sue.Q @daydreamer21 and @gillymary for letting me into you lovely group.
I'm grateful as well to the mother ship captain Julianna and her buddies who helped start this system.
Gillymary, Uni is becoming all-consuming, but I'm enjoying learning. Its nice when its not overwhelming. In three weeks time I will be having essays due and will tend to be frantic.
I might be a bit shy at first but I will come on over and visit as often as i can.
Thanks so much, it means a lot to me.
warmly

Hi Sue.Q! That's great news on keeping below the cals on your fast day. I have been getting slack with the cals creeping up a bit over the limit myself. I'm fasting tomorrow and i will keep it in mind that you managed to stay under so i can too :)
Pap smears are horrendus. I simple can't stand them. I wish they'd improve preventative care for women, seems they are all ghastly. But it's certainly good that you test.
Glad to hear its sunny there, it's been really nice here, we are headed for hot temps this coming weekend in northern NSW.
Good luck with next fast

Hi @Jools7,
Ahh world work! I wish you all the best over there, and yes it will be intense. I look forward to hearing about it. I've started a food garden here. I have ornamental leafy plants, but no food until now. I have a very happy well looked after coriander plant. I thought it would be impossible to look after one more thing, but this little darling is so generous in how much it's thriving, I'm thinking it will have a friend soon. Might get some parsley.
Fasting tomorrow.
Have a good week

Thanks so much @Juliana.Rivers, I really appreciate you help. I love this buddy system. I really don't think I'd have lasted alone, not even for two weeks. I'm looking forward to being a buddy. I hope you're going well too.

♥ Famous Fasting Fivesome ♥

Yes I put in a really good fastday to be truthful the best in a very long time but I've still a very long way to go and can't afford to waste time so I kicked myself up the backside once again and got back to basic 5:2 because if I don't do my bit I'll never get any closer will I now? I'm really pleased with my changes so far I'm in a totally different place than this time last year.
Not sure if my body has gone into starvation mode and the 2 true fasts weekly should give me a better picture, one thing I can say for certain is I shouldn't have reached my body's "set point" not with another 50lbs to go. Lol  Sue

Just had breakfast of toast of integrity 1 boiled egg and marmalade now very rare treat these days. Have a full day so that will fuel me for a few hours to my coffee and dinner is done with a lentil pie salad and cauliflower au gratin. Yes it is a feast day hence the carbs. Probably fruit for lunch. Plan next fast on weekend.

@Sue.Q all the best can't go wrong with 5:2 basics. @daydreamer21 hope you are feeling better noticed on fasting thread you were a bit crook. Just a flying visit into here fasting buddies have a good day one and all

Hi@Sue.Q, Thanks so much for the lovely welcome. I feel really grateful to be here. I've a long way to go so i'm really interested in how you've gotten so far. I'm two months in and I look at where you are and I think you're incredible getting that far.

I'm fasting today and it's going pretty good, just about to have breakfast at 1pm woo hooo.

Has it gotten easier for you? Are the fasts and low calories feast days easier? Last fast was really hard for me. I thought "goodness this is too extreme" I got through. However, it felt so extreme to be almost starving myself even just for one day. Today feels ok. Being busy seems to help. And getting sleep.
Okay off to eat my eggs and toast slowlyyyyy.

I have plans for a movie treat this afternoon to get me through till dinner at 7.30pm. Seems to help so far.
