Like many I have fat and thin stuff! I have just bought a few pairs of leggings and long tops I previously felt too fat to wear. I bought size 12 as worried about how I would look and it is all loose. I have a favourite small size 12 dress I would love to wear in the summer and am hopeful of getting into it. I have packed up my size 14 stuff and reinstated the 10's in my wardrobe. I am determined to never be above a 12 again.
I have just bought some new silk trousers from Patra.I decided to go down a size from the ones I bought 3 years ago - thus a size XL. They are elasticated waist and I can get them on although they are tight. OK with long tops for now and room for shrinkage. :) At the same time i saw another pair of trousers in their sale so ordered them as well - also XL. They have a fly front - won't meet at the moment but I decided to keep them rather than send them back - watch this space ;)
I haven't got any slim clothes - I am nearly as small as I have ever been in my adult life - I had one pair of smaller jeans that I bought when I lost a bit of weight a couple of years ago, but when I got round to trying them on again, they were already too big - I bought three pairs of emergency jogging trousers to get through the winter, because the others I had were flapping about like tents. Still got a long way to go - I don't want to waste money on inbetween clothes, but think I may have to get something if the weather gets warmer. I may be stealing my OH' s XL shirts, because he has slimmed back into large size. (As a temporary measure)!
:D It is lovely reading all your posts about what you would like to wear again. I don't feel so daft now having kept favourite clothes "just in case I might fit into them again". I hope the difference this time is that following 5:2 will enable me to do so.
I stuck quite a few items on Ebay tonight as certain things are beginning to look too baggy on me :) yay. Give it a couple months and can buy a whole new wardrobe!
I have two summer dresses that I got twenty years ago (!). I love them and now have retired them.they didn't get much wearing in Shetland, but in the sand pit got worn out. I got lovely fabric and got them copied by a tailor. Wore them once, washed them and they shrunk. HONEST! The fabric wasn't preshrunk. Anyway, they have hung in the wardrobe for about ten months. I can now put on two of them comfortably and am aiming for the other one cos it's my favourite. It's begining to heat up here so I really want to have them in use as I don't actually have much in the way of clothing and really need to be able to wear all that I have ;)
I have a bagful of beautiful clothes that are all about a size 12-14 and I have been a 16 for a few years. They belonged to my daughter who passed away from breast cancer 4 years ago. She had beautiful taste in clothes and lived in London working there in a well paid job. I brought home to Australia a huge case full of things after she left us and gave most of them to my other daughter but kept a few for myself. They are precious because she loved them. I have had a gorgeous vintage 1960s trench coat that was hers hanging in my wardrobe but it was too tight in the arms and shoulders. I tried it on a couple of weeks ago and it FITS me. I cried! I want to keep going on the 5:2 so I can wear some of the other lovely things. It makes me feel closer to her. I miss her every minute of every day......
Oh, Mullumgirl, that is such a moving post, I'm not surprised you cried. Thank you for sharing that.

I have a pair of biker trousers size 10/12 that I want to fit into again. Without them I can't ride pillion safely on OH's bike and they can be soooo expensive to buy.

I'm hoping that by the summer they'll slide on
I've been in stretchy leggings and jumpers for ages and feel frumpy.
think i was heading for a size 16 if im honest but wouldnt buy any so hardly have any clothes at the mo.
trouble with stretchy clothes is you can't gauge the losses by them as they just shrink with you.

So I'm looking forward to buying nice clothes and getting excited about shopping again!
Be interesting to see how I get on with my wetsuit. Women's wetsuits only go up to a 16, so I've been squeezing my 18/20/22 body into it and by the time I get it on, I'm too exhausted to actually do any watersports.

Your daughter is always with you, Mullumgirl.
My mum has promised to hand-knit me an Arran jumper when I get to a size 12! Apparently she can't fit enough stitches on the needles until I get down to that!
The last time she knitted me anything I was about 6 years old, and now I'm 35!!!
YES! A pair of jeans from New Look. I have this feeling that the day it fits me it will be the end of all sadness in my life!!! I even picture myself boarding a BA flight to London in them (and then not wearing them for the rest of the trip because I tend to gain a pound a day when I'm in England, LOL).
