Just had an email from the admin chap at the official Fast Diet site. It seems that for some reason they've decided to remove the 'Supportive word or two...' links, ie all the online groups & communities they used to link to have now been removed from the site.

Seems a bit of a slap in the face after being thanked for running this place & how helpful this community has been, especially after being asked to help with testimonies etc for the book.

Well, I guess it falls to all of us now to keep the new members coming in by spreading word about the forums. If you've a website or blog and would be so kind as to add a link that would be fantastic. If your site is relevant to 5:2/fasting etc feel free to add a link to it in the Resources forum. I can make some buttons if anyone wants one for on their site.

Hopefully we'll still get people coming in from Google and the few other forums which mention us :)
Probably going to try to keep any potential revenue streams in-house, given this has probably taken off more than they expected.

Bit disappointing, like the book was too. Expect it's out of MM's hands now and been looked at by the corporate-types.

You've done a grand job setting this up!
An even bigger slap when you realise that they still have other peoples links on there!
Upsetting. But we found you on Google anyway.
I've asked for my details to be removed from their list of registered 'users' as I find this place more informative so thank you Moogie (and the others) for setting this up. :like:
Yep, I came here via google too, not from the 'official' site.
I can see that it must seem a slap in the face though. Don't take it personally Moogie, I bet it is down to a faceless corporate decision.
A big thank you from me!
Same, didn't even know there was an "official" site.
...and I know it's petty but you can also remove the link to their site from your footer whilst still keeping the disclaimer. ;-)
Thanks guys :) I'm wondering if this means they're planning on starting their own forum - in which case I wonder if it's worth me saving up to buy some nicer forum software!
Hey, you have nice people and a good admin team and thats worth more than software! As soon as you start to read the posts you can tell its a quality place to be. I've learned loads in the short time I've been here. I did come from the MM site but I didn't do much in the way of posting on there. Too many people on there just out to snipe. Its not nice what they;re doing but I don't think its any great loss.
I saw the official site, but found you from a link in a thread on My Fitness Pal. I think they're just shooting themselves in the foot. This group is wonderful.
I went on it today for the first time through your link as I had nothing better to do. Its no loss. Keep up the good work moogie and everyone else involved with this forum. Like izzy says its the members that make a forum what it is and a brill team and you have both :like:
Hi Moogie

I've only just recently joined this forum and I found it through google not from the main site. From the start I have been impressed with how professionally it is set up and how your admin team takes the time to research long term effects of the diet. I also find everyone on here extremely friendly and supportive and although I've only posted once since joining I sign in every day to see what the community is talking about. Without this forum I would feel really isolated and I love the fact that you have brought us all together to share our highs and lows of following the 5.2. Don't worry about the main site, you have all of us and from the sound of it, everyone loves you. Even if the main site starts its own forum, I for one won't be going anywhere and I suspect everyone on here feels the same. Keep up the good work.

I found this forum through google as well. It's been a real help to me. Thanks for all of your hard work setting this up Moogie.
Hi Moogie,
Totally agree with everyone else, you do a brilliant job running this forum and I think they'll have to go some to measure up!
They're being very short-sighted, especially as you even promote their books etc here! As you say, it really is a slap in the face after all you've done and I bet there's a commercial reason behind it.
I'll be spreading the word as often as I can about this forum.
