You should be grateful it was just a bird and not one of M. Crapaud's northern cousins
Judging by the size of the offering, I'd say they were related: toad in the hole!!
I don't remember who posted the Veet reviews thread but THANK YOU!!!

I'm feeling rather stressed today and I use them as a stress-relief. It works miracles!
No sign of our Ballerina?
Our last day here; we're going to the Pegasus Bridge memorial, followed by something we always do when here - go to a D day beach and make a cup of tea in honour of all brave men and women, then and now.
Then, no doubt, tonight we'll have a bbq (just for a change) before packing away our awning.
Ferry home tomorrow, but you don't get rid of me that easily! Oh no! There's free wifi on board!
Looking forward to seeing family and our dogs.

I almost forgot... I shall go back to being PennyForthem!
I'm here, I'm here, it's just that yesterday was a lost day on the forum, or at least it was a lost post, not a LAST post, for me.

I shall be back on here later with more tales from the dark side,

Love to all,

Hi gang,

We decided that we would put off our trip to St Tropez til Friday, my cousin and her husband are due back on Thursday so we thought it best to get out of their hair for the day and let them re-acquaint themselves with their home. We have yet to work out whether to go by boat and return by bus or the other way round, such major decisions are the bane of our lives here. We are quite happy to get around by public transport, it has it's own little ups and downs. When we were in Rome we got around all over the place by bus. So confident were we that in no time others were asking us about their desination and we were more than happy to tell them all where to get off. Even by foot we were often asked for directions to different places, yet again, we were happy to tell folk where to go.

Like Pennyforthem, we experienced bird poo aimed at us but this was Papal pigeon poo. This being Rome, we felt blessed indeed. It happened as we waited to see the big man himself come out onto his Juliet balcony to do his Olbus Oil thing, some kind of world blessing. He was so far away from us that you could not really see him properly. I said to hubs that from this distance how were we to know that this really was the man himself, it could be a blow up doll dressed as the pope for all we knew. Hubs thought that was unlikely as you normally have to pay extra for that sort of thing!

It has been very hot here today and I can see why folk have air conditioning in their homes but it seems a shame to not enjoy the warm whilst we can. We have air conditioning in our car at home and I like it but hubs hates it. He prefers the type we had in our old defender 90 Land Rover. There was a car, we both loved it, everything about it was primative yet surprisingly effective, a bit like him indoors' mating technique, oooh! The air conditioning especially was in a class of it's own, if it was too hot you just dropped the windscreen onto the bonnet and hey presto, hair today, gone tomorrow, instant sexy bedhead look, whereas I just look windswept and uninteresting. The heating system was equally unique, if you were cold, there was a flap you dropped down and all the heat from the engine immediately took all the hair of the front of your shins and some skin with it if you were really lucky. Whilst this may have been an instantaneous method of depilation it had it's drawbacks, it was a very expensive type of epilator, an inconvenient size as I believe you can get handbag sized ones now and it was not easy to do the backs of your legs, not impossible, just extremely difficult especially if you were driving at the time. Eventually we, very reluctantly sold our beloved leg mowing machine and did our legs a favour and bought a Gillette, Mach 3 Turbo, wow! Very sleek and smooth, it can go from o to 60 in seconds without any loss of blood or need of oxygen.

You would have though that we would have run out of depilatory inspired posts by now, but it seems not, oh well, off for a swim, see you all later,

Bon soir, ma chere Ballerina. Glad to see that your non appearance earlier was due to nothing more serious than a lost post. I often lose posts, in fact, I'm always losing something. Hub says I have frequently lost the plot, but I don't think I ever had the plot - wasn't that Guy Fawkes?

Anyway, today, we went to Pegasus bridge and had our lunch at the cafe first liberated by those brave men who landed their gliders there. I took photos, too, but of course have hopped onto quick reply and can't post them here. To follow...

I had leek quiche with salad and a glass of water! It was a tad chilly for the planned picnic on the beach.
On the ferry, homeward bound.
One more sleep near Oxford, then home tomorrow.
Then it'll be over and out (for now) from chutneymaker. I love using my tablet, so chutney maker may return in due course.
Toodle pip, tweeps.
Have agood trip home and look forward to you returning as your alter ego, Pennyforthem and thanks for holidaying with us, take care,

I have the same ID whether I use my ipad or computer.
I normally do, merlin, but for some reason my tablet always rejects penny's login.
Home safe and sound!
We had 3 eager pooches waiting for us, so, (if you don't like dogs, read no further!) covered with doggie slobber and dog hair, we feel as if we've never been away!

We went to the local pub for supper and I ate with gusto (and hub was there, too!)
This morning, I weighed with trepidation - and I was ...a whole lb heavier than when I left! Same weight on my tracker as my last input.

Unbelieveable! Today is a fast day for me, as I move onto my next phase. Another stone to go!

Hope you're still having fun over there, Ballerina. It's a date with the washing machine, for me!
I'm off on my travels today as well. Nothing even remotely holidayish like France. I'm off to Bolton. Its the furthest I've been from home in nearly a year. I'm only risking it today as I have a shiney new TENS machine to help with the pain. If that doesn't work hubby has promised we will stop overnight somewhere and drive back tomorrow.

But, I'm on my own with hubby, no kids and we are seeing some online friends at long last and I get to eat out twice. Yay!
Julia, wherever you go, I do hope your TENS machine does its job and that you get to enjoy seeing friends and eating out x
