Hi! *waves*

I'm Hayley, born and bred in England, UK - I grew up in Essex (south-east England) and have lived in Devon (south-west England) for nearly 9 years. Worked for a few months in China/Hong Kong and India in 2006, otherwise I haven't travelled outside the UK much.

Nice to "meet" you all.

Nothing as exotic as most of you!
I live in beautiful Surrey UK.
I find it really interesting to read about a little of life around the globe.(And a huge support too)
Keep up the chat please!!

For us travellers living in Surrey is exotic. My dad had a day in France once. He loved cycling around the lanes of Surrey, Sussex and Kent. "You can't beat that," he'd say. He was a very happy man

I'm Sarah and I've lived in London all my life apart from 2 years on the Kent coast. I'm quite envious of the very well-travelled among us.

GMH and Convert52 - Re Hawkes Bay - lived at Haumoana in a 'batch' in the early 60s, when my Dad worked in Hastings for a year, and started school there. I remember being taken into Napier on late night shopping jaunts (no such thing at the time in UK all shops closed at teatime, no Sunday opening then either) and also being taken to Saturday morning films (no TV then in NZ!) eating hokey pokey (?) ice cream (wow could do with some right now, lol!) and also 'lolly scrambles' quite a shock for a shy little English girl, who was used to waiting her turn,  and the pebbly beach just beyond our road.
Would love to go back someday to visit, as I believe it's very different round there now (and quite arty (!) which would suit me just fine!)

Hey Howie...you've got me beat by a few. I've been to 46 and am missing Alaska, Hawaii, Washington and Oregon. Our next vacay is a cruise to the Bahamas, so nothing in the works for the other four yet. I am from the Hoosier state in between the cornfields (cornfed, as they say) which is at least partly what brings me here to 5:2 land.

Hellooooo, I live in my lovely house in an old historic Hertfordshire village, just on the edge of the Chiltern hills, overlooking the River Gade. Bliss.....

However, the most important and interesting fact is, there are 5 pubs within a 15min walk from my front door. Hic......

I'm currently in the UK on a break from the Saudi sun! Ironically finding it more uncomfortable here than in Riyadh with regard to the heat. I miss the air conditioning!

We've been living in Riyadh for almost ten years,
