Ieramul wrote: Just want to say that I think this web site is absolutely outstanding with regards to information on fasting. Although I have been summer fasting since 2012 (I intend to keep going this year) I never quite understood why weight plateaus and suddenly drops quite considerably. I have just come across this in: "Why the scales don't tell the truth"

[b]Finally we get to fat loss! But it’s not what you think: as you are losing fat the body tends to increase the water content of the adipose tissue (your fat stores). When you lose fat you may notice that your fatty areas develop a softer, squishier appearance than before. This is an indication that fat has been lost and your body is storing water. Eventually, the body reduces the water held in the adipose tissue and you may experience the ‘whoosh’ effect, whereby you see a sudden drop in weight after days (or weeks) of weighing the same.

Finally I understand, thank you to all those who created this site. I find myself squishing all sorts of "soft parts" in the hope it is just water. :clover: :like:

@ieramul - think it's time you got some M and S 'squish and squeeze' (aka Sculpt and Lift) jeans ...  :like: :like:
Thanks @Silverdarling and @CandiceMarie. Good idea about squidge and squeeze trousers. Could do with a reward/motivation in terms of outfit.
I also love the drawings (artwork) with jokes and funny instructions. A very creative and informative website. Well done!!!
piece of useless information but..........did you know our national treasure Mary Berry wears M&S jeans?

If they're good enough for her I reckon that's enough endorsement!

Can't stand seeing decorations etc up too early but I must admit I do Xmas shopping any time of year to avoid a panic and have actually done quite a bit in the last couple of days in clearance sales! Is that acceptable @CandiceMarie?
Deffo acceptable@madcatlady!
Picking up bargains, squirreling away pressies, cards and wrapping is the kinda forward planning most of us do to some extent.
Its just the trees and deccies - and the xmas songs in the shops months ahead of the time - that drive me crackers..and not christmas crackers either!
I' m not a fan of xmas, just buy for children and make donation to a kids and an animals charity, but i DO love how the christmas lights brighten the cold dark evenings, and i love the excitement in the air on C rimbo Eve..i also love " twixmas " ..the time after boxing day and before New Year's Eve. But with everything happening many weeks ahead of the last week in December, its hard to feel that christmas spirit any more x
Just looking at booking the shard for the in laws for xmas present. With afternoon tea at a nearby hotel. That way We get to go again as they won't go on their own.
@carieoates that sounds lovely x
Just checked my BigDay App. It's 58 days since the start of my last holiday which seemed just 5 mins ago and 59 days to Christmas. THAT is a scary thought.
Yeh @rawkaren this year has flown even faster than 2013!
But won't it be lovely to be with OH and Archie for xmas! X :like:
Well I just read through this thread and wanted to congratulate @rawkaren for her lovely flowers - that's so incredibly sweet!

I was shopping today and saw Christmas decorations as well. It's obscene!

I just spent my last two+ weeks with my head buried in the Outlander book series. Since next summer's vacation will include Scotland, several friends insisted I pick it up - and I had a great deal of trouble putting it down!
Dunno bout you,but i really really miss @Sue.Q...
And @callyanna @wildmissus and several others ..
Come back soon old chums x x
@CandiceMarie, I'm still here. I check in at least once a day to see what everyone is up to but there isn't much going on here and I haven't got much to say for myself.

I've ben a bit down in the weight loss/healthy eating front as I'm just a (sugar) pig on eating days. I'm starting to think ahead to make sure I don't put weight on over Christmas. I need to give myself a shake, a kick up the backside. pull myself together, get motivated. Mmm...I'm sure we have all been there. My sister lost a fair bit of weight recently but has put most of it back on and is back at 13 stone. With the weight I have lost since 5:2ing this is the first time that I have ever been a lower weight that my sister. That made me feel pleased with myself as I have kept my weight off. I just need to keep it off and lose the few pounds that keep creeping on.

Candice, it was my oldest daughter's birthday yesterday - she is now 16. I have told her that means 'sweet 16'! She amazes me as she is so head strong and knows exactly what she wants. She annoys me because she is a very healthy size 8 who has an amazing curvy figure and eats all the right food! She really pees me off when she is in her selfish mode. She was born 8 weeks early, weighing 3lb 15oz - placenta abruption, so we were both very luck to live! She is quite a reserved person so whenever she achieves something I am immensely proud of her as I know how difficult is has been for her to get what she wants. Oh, almost forgot to say that she loves me at the moment because I helped her dye her hair for her birthday - purple, plum to be precise.
Hai WM@wildmissus! X thanks for responding!
I too find self v myself v much stuck in " ya need to get ya act together" mode.. My resolve hasn't been strong this year  am fasting today but just clinging on by a fingernail...
However, good news WM that you are officially lighter than yr sibling! :like: tho i feel for her..
Sometimes feels like the weight battle just cannot be won :curse:
BUT I did a test yesterday ( must find the link ) ..a 15 min test to see if displaying early signs of Alzheimers...to my astonishment i am NOT..in fact, score was better than expected for my age!
Maybe 5:2 is working for my brain if not for my waistline! ( tho i know i need to put in more effort to see any impressive inch results ! )
Happy Bday to your DD xx... I do think the young ones of today have much more innate wisdom than i remember ever having as a teen..
And what a fab combination..size 8 but curvy! ...plus lovely shiny plum hair thanks to Mum 's help!
I bet those 16 yrs have flown by WM ..so glad that you both survived the abruption! :like:
Me and DD survived placenta praevia complication :like: x x
