Oh, Zamale, I was almost heaving just reading your post, you poor thing.

Ballerina x
From childhood, anything on the plate with fat or bones or gristle that had to be dissected off the edible bits. Preferred amorphous meat like spam. Nowadays I can handle unfilleted fish but prefer not to, I want to look at a clear plate when I finish eating and being substantially veggie that is usually easy.
Liver - loved it, as long as no tubes/arteries hanging around in it - and am on the verge of becoming a fish/liver veggie because I think it would be good for me...
Shellfish - won't eat because it looks and smells nasty, crab/lobster won't eat because they are so majestic and I feel sorry for them...
Celery for me too:(
Anything really creamy:(
That's it I think.
I don't like offal or any shellfish except prawns, scallops and battered calmari if it's really crisp- certainly not anything you have to dig out of a shell. I also don't like peanuts - I was allergic to them as a child and they still give me an itchy throat if I inadvertantly eat them. I can't think of any fruit or veg that I don't like - even brussel sprouts!
Offal for me too, and any meat except chicken or turkey. And asparagus. And Marmite.

I LOVE all fish and shellfish though!
I really hate onions and leaks, especially raw, I can't eat them at all and we never have them in the house. I have got a bit better though as I can just about cope with onions in soup etc if they are so finely chopped that they disolve, it's more of a texture than a taste issue.
GIGI55, it is all good, I LOVE anchovies! If we get stuck together on a desert island, you get the beetroot salad and I get the anchovies and we are all happy! ;-)

As a kid in Italy in summertime at the seaside my snacks were always bread, butter and anchovies (the one cured in salt, not the canned ones). I find that most people who do not like anchovies have only ever eaten those plastic-like brown things drenched in bad oil and lined inside flat tins...they are not that good, I agree.
How is it that nobody has mentioned pumpkin? Can't eat this ever since was made to eat it when young. Also won't eat cooked carrots (okay if they're raw or grated). And I've finally taken a stand about brussel sprouts! Nope, not eating them anymore.

I love all fruit except mango - urgh. Can't even tolerate the smell.

Celery and cottage cheese helps me through the fast days...
I don't drink tea & dislike the smell of it apart from Earl Grey I think because as a child I had tea parties on grass & I suspect I ate/ drank grass  Also the smell of gin I think because my parents had a drink before going out to cocktail parties & it became associated with me being at home with a babysitter.
I don't eat offal, eel, escargot, winkles, cockles, squid & octopus because of the texture & the way they look. I won't eat veal because of the way it is produced although rose veal seems more ethically produced.
I hate Brussels Sprouts because of the smell & taste & probably childhood associations of being expected to clear my plate. Also I dislike vinegar so anything with that on including beet root although I do like mango chutney that I suppose must have vinegar in it.
I used to dislike coffee but when a teenager it was socially uncomfortable to not drink it & I taught myself to tolerate it by using a free sachet of Nescafé that came with a magazine to try it. My parents had the bottles of Camp coffee with chicory that I also didn't enjoy so it would have been wasteful to buy a jar of coffee & not use it, waste was not tolerated in my parents house!
Semolina and blancmange eeeuuuurrrgggghhhhhhh.....yuk yuk yuk ( horrid school dinners)
Milk eeeeeuuuurrrgghhhh retch yuk retch ( free school milk)
Liver eeewwwww( over cooked by my mum)
Aubergines eeeewwww slimy slimy no no no ( have no idea why)

And finally, I know some of you may gasp, neigh faint at this one but.....here goes........ Chocolate brownies and chocolate cake.......really don't like either of them! I'd rather have a spam fritter with marmite on a bed of celery and sprouts, with a side order of shellfish......slurp yummy :)
I never liked any type of crustaceans, crabs, shrimps winkles etc. My mum got us to collect winkles an whelks from the rocks when the tide went out and they used to climb over the sides of the bucket on the way home. The screaming sound of them when they were cooking still haunts me to this day, and then I had to sit and watch while my mum and sister pulled them out of the shells with a pin.
eeeughhh, squirm, squirm!
OMG Zamale were your parents into voodoo! I actually queasy after reading about some of these foods! My hates:
Meat - dead rotting animal flesh
Fish - ditto
Swede - what IS that? forced to eat it mashed and foul because my mother thought we should have variety
Celery - weight watchers
Brussel Sprouts - my only ever white xmas dinner in the UK - overcooked & watery & I HAD to eat them to be polite
I think we need to start a food that we LOVE thread to counteract the nausea ;>)
When I was little my mother says I ate everything including little fried fish (like whitebait) with their little heads and bones and gnawed meat and gelatine off pigs' trotters.

Even now the only food I'm not wild about is offal although I've taught myself to like liver when prepared well (because it's so nutritious), don't like the taste of kidneys and don't think I'd like to try tripe. Love haggis though.

Love fish and shellfish although less keen on mussels these days since having food poisoning twice; wouldn't order a whole dish of them now but if they turn up in a mixed seafood dish I'll happily eat them. Squid in squid ink, yum! (Only ever had the tinned version though which is soft rather than rubbery.)

Veggie-wise not keen on raw courgette, raw peanuts or watermelon, and I do curse a little bit when a marrow turns up in my veg box but more because it's bland and boring. Tried durian fruit once and didn't like it but understand it's meant to be an acquired taste and I'm quite good at acquiring them so might give it another shot if I get a chance.
I love wine! I now need some after reading some of these horror stories
