Fantastic Day
05 Mar 2013, 20:39
Today I feel fantastic. Trousers too big... Looked at back of the wardrobe and found long forgotten size 16's. Wore them for work today and felt really good. Will soon be in those size 14 shorts this summer!!!!!!

Great news Lesley, it's lovely motivation to persevere when you can actually see and feel results :)

It's great to be able to slide into the next size down. Well done!

I'm looking forward to the time when I have just one size of clothes in my wardrobe, and all this yo-yoing stops. I think this way of eating might be it.

Another fantastic day for me. I got on the scales this morning and another 2lb lost this week. That now takes me to my FIRST STONE off.
I can now join the...
'1 stone lost on 5:2 club.'
My goal was to lose a stone by Easter. My reward two bunches of flowers. I will look at them with a big smile on my face as I work towards getting my next stone off. Then I can join the 2 Stone club!

What a fantastic WOL this is.

Thank you all. Yes AnnieD, I'm really chuffed. Still got big smile on my face.
All I can say is this really does work. Yes frustrating one minute then exciting the next. But if you stick with it you will get the results.
Good luck to everyone on this WOL. We can do this. Keep positive.

Hi Lesley54 - seeing as its working do you mind give those of us who are struggling some tips? I have been doing this for 4 weeks now and have only lost 2 kilos but I think its because I misunderstood the feast days as being exactly that! I am exercising and feel great - I haven't measured but feel sure that I have in fact lost some inches....I am perservering but I do think that I got it wrong at the start. Now I will really try to eat much more sensibly on non-fast days....I love the fasting now I am used to it - feel great and yesterday didn't feel the normal angry tum growl...any tips please and WELL DONE - So pleased for you!!!! What is your normal non-fast days diet? Thanks

I've found some jeans that were very uncomfortable and was able to have a day out in them, no chafing or strangulation! So good!

Well done!

Jeans are such a good measure aren't they!

I pulled a pair on rapidly the other day, thinking they were my 'just off to feed the horses' ones - I was more than a little upset that they felt quite snug (they're usually very 'comfortable') - sad face :( ........ then I looked down at them and thought 'they're a bit smart...?' turns out it was the pair that I've had hanging around waiting to be able to fit into them.

All of a sudden 'snug' was good :)

Melting. We are all very different and it is a case of finding what works for you.
I have been careful in what I eat and eat healthily - no pigging out or eating before meals and nothing after evening meal. I don't really count on a normal day but have cut back on carbs, but plenty of veg and salad. My pleasure is a couple of glasses of red wine which I still enjoy! I would guess I have about 1450-1550 cals on a normal day (including my red)
Some fast days I have eaten 500. A few under and a few over (650ish).
I strongly believe what Caroline keeps saying about tricking your metabolism is spot on. This last couple of weeks I have changed how I eat. I always had breakfast - porridge made with boiling water. Then an evening meal. Water, green tea in between. The last couple of weeks I have done that on my first fast of the week then skipped breakfast and only had my drinks then evening meal on my second fast day. Both weeks I lost 2lb. Before that I was losing 1lb a week.
Although I like running - I'm not good at it but doing c25k, I have found that I put weight on if I run or exercise, water in muscle repair and all that, so for the time being I am not doing much exercise but intend to do so in the near future as I need to tone up now.
Hope some of this helps.

I don't believe in diets as such but this way of eating is more about body repair and eating healthy and sensibly. IMHO.

Good luck to every one and may we all achieve our goals.
And keep wearing those jeans!!!
