Sunday Weigh In
10 Feb 2013, 10:15
Have just weighed in and am happy to report a pound loss again this week :D .

I have been following this WOE for 2 weeks now and have lost a pound each week and an inch off my waist - happy with that!

If I keep losing a pound a week then I am happy!

Well done! I have also lost 2 lbs over two weeks it was actually 4oz last week but the tracker couldn't then register that. Isn't it lovely to be going down?

Hi Isis, well done on your loss too! As you say it is great to be going down, especially when I have still had pizza and been out for a 3 course dinner with wine this week! Good luck for next week!

Thank you Rachel isn't it good to be able to eat out not count calories & still lose weight? that is having ones cake & eating it!
Good luck next week. I am fasting on Monday & Friday & on Monday will be meeting some friends to bead so I will have to avoid the cake then.

Another pound (or two) off today!! I weigh on the Wii and that tells me I have lost two pound put looking at my stats on here it is only a pound - not sure where I have gone wrong with putting the figures in but to be honest I am not bothered as long as they are going in the right direction!! :D

Looking forward to next fast tomorrow but before that some lovely food today!!

Anyone else who is weighing today I hope you get a good result.

I have weighed myself today & lost 2oz which is rather different to Friday when I had lost 2lbs! I think that increasing my calories to my correct TDEE ( after my mistake of under eating ) over the last three days has affected this with eating more carbs. I also haven't had a fast day since then when next fast day I will have to get used to fewer calories of 460. Well next week will be interesting to see how I do then with my new 5:2 regime. ;)
Good luck to other Sunday weighers & very well done to those of you who have lost weight.

I weighed myself today after doing 4:3 last week and have put on 700grams plus no loss from my waist. I have upped my exercise but have been eating below my TDEE so maybe that is my problem; I am going to up my calories on up days and see if that helps. I don't have much to lose so maybe that is part of the problem.

Hello Debs
That must be very frustrating for you. Caroline in nerds section has mentioned that it is the greater difference in calories between fasting days & eating days that helps kick the body into fat using mode. I was certainly advised that eating below TDEE was not helpful. I hope your next week goes better but like my response to upping calories on eating days I am guessing it takes time for ones body to adjust? at least that is what I assume is happening?

Lost a kilo since my last weigh in 2 weeks ago.
A pound a week will do me nicely thank you.
Well done girls on your weight losses too.
I'm going to celebrate with a bacon butty as its a non fast day today.
Good luck this week. My scales are away now until next forum weigh in....

Debs I'm sorry for your disappointment, but I'm sure there will be some logical explanation.
I stuck for 2 weeks without weight loss.
I started keeping to around my 1600 calorie to maintain weight on feast days, and it seems to have worked.
It could be coincidence. I don't know.
Stick with it and I'm sure lull see results.

We've weighed this morning and though partner's weight stayed the same he's lost 2cm from his waist. I've lost another pound and two cm from waist. mind you, its my nephew's birthday celebration today and we'regoing for a slap up three course meal at a gastro pub. Don't hold out much hope for weight loss for our fourth week! I think we will be glad of the fast day tomorrow ;)

Hi Debs
I think your increased exercise could be masking any fat loss. And as you say, being near your target will slow things down.

The whole TDEE question is complicated. It is not clear whether the reduction in metabolic rate seen with dieting is significant enough to prevent weight loss, perhaps in some people it is. Nor is it clear which of the different TDEE calculation methods is the most accurate.

However, some people have found they have lost more weight on the weeks when they ate more on their feed days than when they were careful. Last week for example I had a weekend when I ate lots (4 days of two course lunches and three course dinners plus wine) and was not expecting lose weight but I did. Other weeks I have not felt like eating all that much but didn't lose weight.

But there are so many variables that could affect the "result" we see on the scales/measure. In the end I think we have to trust in the concept of eat normally but fast 2 days, and allow plenty of time before judging whether it is working.

I would suggest you go back to eating up to your TDEE. In fact go over it on a couple of days and under on a couple...mix things up...and then fast on two days making site you stay under a quarter of TDEE. Give it a month and see. Once your body adapts to the new exercise level I'm sure you will see a loss of inches.

Well done Rachel on the 4lbs off. You must be so pleased.

A 1lb a week average gives you nearly a 4 stone loss over a year, most people would be delighted with that.

Thanks Catscratch, I am very pleased and very surprised! :o

I think I had such a busy week work wise I probably didn't eat as much as normal on my non-fast days!

Have made up for it yesterday and today with lunch at the pub (that my other half is running) both days with yummy honeycomb cheesecake for dessert twice!

Quite looking forward to fasting tomorrow.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. :D
