Well done for completing the first week of C25K @mrstee!
I've downloaded it, and am slowly getting my head in the right place to try it. It took me months of contemplation before I started to lose weight, but I did it in the end, so am hoping this will be the same!

Thanks Annurca, I have never been particularly sporty, even when I was at school, so I think if I can try, you could too. It wasn't too hard this first week, but I have unearthed the hand-me-down treadmill as I know I'd never manage to run locally outdoors. Plus there's no excuse if it's raining / hot / icy is there ?. Go for it !

Well done all you C25k ers. First few weeks really do get you into the groove, it gets harder then you catch up. I'm constantly re-starting at week 4-6. Poor you tracie. My grass pollen allergy is just starting and it's my first year with contacts .

Congratulations on being at the top of the leader board, @mrstee!
I think I've slowed down a little this week as my poor border collie has had a second stroke and isn't responding to treatment, so I'm not doing the 5kms of dogwalking I usually do. I think I will have to put her down - she is 14 so it isn't a complete shock.
I have a 27km trail race on Sunday morning so my paces for that day will probably be my highest ever, as it will be my longest run to date. I've just registered for the Rome marathon in March 2015 so need to start doing longer runs.
Good luck to all you C25kers! I started off just doing 5k runs and never thought I'd manage a 10k let alone a half marathon, but anything is possible. It is also a lot easier running when you are lighter!

Haha Mrstee, you've been motivating me too! It's been so cold here, so it's been really good to have someone to chase! (And see you're number 1 this morning - woohoo!)

So seems like animals help - pigs, goats and dogs. :)

@franglaise Sorry to read about your dog. Doing the Rome marathon will be wonderful, all those sights to help get you through!

I'm sorry about your dog too. But good luck with the marathon, wooo
Just been looking at the leaderboard and am amazed at how fluid it is. And where Tim gone. Miss him. Obviously the kiwi winter has stopped him.

Oh @franglaise, that's a shame about your collie, but I expect she's led a full and busy life. Sound like you run a lot and the Rome marathon sounds fab. We went last October for a few days and had a great time, lots of sightseeing and we must have walked miles too ! Good luck with all the training. @Croftmaclean, what sort of goats do you have ? I bet they're good at escaping ! Today I spent the day shopping with my teenage daughter, and I am not a shopping kind of girl ! Anyway, we walked a lot and now I have to rest my wallet and have a nice glass of red wine to recover. Not a lot of activity today ! Must try harder.

@mrstee i have five goats i hope to milk - only one is in milk currently - someone locally was getting rid of them and i took them on. Yes good at escaping. Had them less than a week and just watching my steps increase daily :) No8 today :) I fancy a glass of red wine but decided to save that for a sunday evening relax - enjoy!

Oh Franglaise, I missed the bit about your dog. So sorry to hear, hard to lose your walking buddy. And it's always such a hard decision, even when you know it's the right thing to do.

Crofmaclean, are you going to make cheese out of the milk when you get enough?

I've never been a runner, but I used to be a pretty fit cyclist. We have just dusted down the cycles again, but I don't think the fitbit tracks cycling. Is there an alternative, please?

Hi @PennyForthem
Can't give any personal experience recommendations, but I found this that might be useful
http://www.bicycling.com/training-nutri ... s-cyclists

I'm going to start doing more cross training with cycling in the summer, and will probably use a smart phone app because I don't do enough cycling to warrant investing a lot in a tracker.
Something like this https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/cyclemeter-gps-cycling-running/id330595774?mt=8

Oh I've been perving at that Misfit Shine - and I think when I upgrade, it'll be to this. I love my Flex, but now I've started doing massage, to be able to switch it to a pendant rather than wrist would be awesome. Plus I use my bicycle for transport, so would be good to track that too.

The Misfit is very pretty! It would be useful to track other activities too, as runners always have an advantage on the Fitbit leader board regarding steps taken.
