Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

I think I have convinced my OH that we need to try and get our way up to walking a half-marathon before fall comes and it starts getting cold. I don't really want to enter a race. I just want to hit the 13.2 miles one day. I think he is on board with me and we will go for it one Saturday or Sunday. (If we can find one without prior commitments.) But, fall is our busiest time with the kids activities, OH second job timing marathons, trialthlons and 5ks, etc. If I have to I will just go to one of his races and do it without him. But, I'd really prefer to have him walk it with me and not at one of his trail runs, either. So, this is my latest step goal.
Golinda the zip and the one fasten in almost the same way, but because of its length, the zip clip is shorter and according to some, more durable.

What a lovely prezzie for your grandson. Seems like lots of us want to pass on the fitbit love.

I got my zip as a prezzie from a friend :)

43tweaker that is a brilliant goal to set. Good luck!
Walked a mile along the beach in the fog. Very atmospheri . Also walking with DiL's parents this morning. He has torn his achilles tendon so we're limiting it to a flat walk of 2 miles round the coast path.
We're being joined later by son and family, so another bbq tonight.
GoLinda, I recall dietingdebbie is the dog walker. I don't recall seeing any post from Annscostlass. Anyone?
I think I might hit my 10000 steps today, if I do the dogwalk later. I'm on 9000+ now.
The walk earlier wasn't flat. In fact it was rather a scramble! But, with the aid of hub and walking pole, I managed it.
Hi all

I went for a run this morning having wasted the nice cool early morning faffing about on my iPad = mistake. My OH and I had a nice walk this afternoon , on the beach this time, and got my steps up to over 17,000, which shot me up the rankings.
More seaside steps tomorrow

@Annscotslass has the same name on the forum, she just joined end of July and has only made a couple of posts. From the amount of steps and such she does, I don't think she has much time to spend on the computer. lol
Hi Fitbit / 5:2 friends!

Apologies if this is not the place to post this, but I've only just recently noticed the Fitbit chat here. I dusted off my old Fitbit Ultra and after getting only partial credit for an 8+ mile walk over the weekend (so frustrating) I remember why I'd set it aside to begin with! The battery life is shot.

I'm contemplating upgrading to One or Flex, so appreciate any feedback on either.

Is there a 5:2 group on Fitbit I can join once I get the apparatus sorted?

Thanks and happy stepping!
Hi Fitfunk,

You can absolutely join us! When you have your Fitbit up and running, just PM any of us on the chat with your email address and we can send you an invite from the Fitbit group. (Umleila actually started the group for us). Be warned though...we are an active bunch. We do love having just one more nudge to make our 5:2 journey successful.

I personally have the One, which I LOVE. The only negative I've heard about the Flex is sometimes it registers typing as steps. Several have the Zip as well, so it just mostly depends on where you want to wear it. I keep my One on my bra, pajama top, or whatever I'm wearing. Some of us wear it to sleep to make sure we get every single step registered.

Looking forward to seeing you soon. By the way, Brookstone keeps these in stock if you don't want to wait on shipping.
Hi Fitbitters
I hope you can help - I am not a regular poster on here or the fitbit site but I do enjoy seeing my steps climb through the week
I was wondering is there any way you can delete steps that are counted when in the car - a couple of times recently I have forgotten to put it in activity mode when I get in the car and would like to have accurate steps recorded rather than cheat myself claiming false steps

Hiya Fitfunk. I have the one, only hadn't for a couple of weeks and it is brilliant. Interesting for me to see how active I am not at times. What a great bunch of people on here.

Going back home tomorrow, and back to work (school) next week so looking forward to seeing how many steps my job adds. Maybe a fast tomorrow too, if I can sneak out of my mums house without breakfast. Lol
jeniben, you can log an activity of driving a car retroactively and the steps will be deleted.
Betsygyr8, thanks.
Fitfunk, I have the One and I love it. I charge it once in 5 days or so for less than an hour. I like the display and it counts floors.
So, my galaxy tab got a software update. Now it auto syncs my fitbit. But, I can't get my bluetooth keyboard to work anymore. Hope my OH can figure it out.

ETA: I just figured out the keyboard myself! Had been trying to sync them up forever. Finally found a bluetooth button on the side of the keyboard and it paired it back with my tablet. YAY!!!

My Springer enjoying one of our walks
It has been really hot in the midwest this week so not as pleasant to walk. My goal was to get some early morning steps in each day so hoping to keep up the trend. I'm yearning to be with some of you on your hikes and walks on the beach....I might even take a romp in the water with Penny's dog...
