Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

Sunday greetings to Everyone. What will your goal be this week?

I hope to get in more morning steps before work rather than when I get home. It seems to make about a 2-300 calorie difference when I walk early...guess it is the "after burn".

Go team, go!
Good morning :)

My goal this week is to up my steps to 20,000 a day from 15,000. Previously I walked for an hour in the morning and did 5000 and walked the other 10. Now I am jogging and getting 10,000 steps done in an hour, so in theory should still be able to get the other ten during the day. We'll see.

Have a lovely week everyone :)
My goal is to get any steps haha was a terrible week last week with so much travel for work just didn't get the time to get any steps in. Hoping to try and get in a few long evening walks this week.

Had my first big gain over the last couple of days - but for the first time since starting the diet I have been a bit "clogged" too which would probably explain the extra weight. Not sure what to do there but hopefully things will start moving again soon haha
We're on holiday so it's a case of walking the dogs, eating and drinking with family and enjoying life! We have no electricity for a week, so I have my tablet and mifi, both rechargeable from solar panels and laptop which can be recharged through an inverter. I will only be syncing my fitbit once a day if I'm lucky.
Having said that, I walked the dogs this morning and forgot my fitbit.
Oh dear, I fosee a lost week ahead....
My goals are similar to yours Umleilla. Last week I was able to go over 20k steps every day and yesterday I did 25685. Would like to be able to keep this goal of 20k this week. I also try to do around 10k in the morning before work. At work I can't do much... Usually around 3000-3.500 and then I continue when I get home. Sometime go for a walk in the evenings.
Enjoy your holiday pennyforthem :) it will only be a lost week of recorded steps if you are still doing the walking!

Tbreweton have you thought of adding chia seeds or flaxseed to your diet? I use ground flax seeds and they help. I've used chia a few times but its very pricy and hard to get around here.
I'm also on Hols. My mum keeps saying "do you need to take your fitbit for a walk." And "have you done enough steps yet."she's really over weight and I'm worried that she's just going to pop off one day, mind you I've managed to skip breakfast and swerved the white bread several times. So my mission is to get her to buy a fitbit and compete with me, she loves her technology and being down with the kids so to speak. So my activity has been rubbish since Thursday. But back on it on Wednesday like a rash.
Penny, the Fitbit will remember 7-10 days of information so keep getting your steps. I think it remembers 7 days of detail, and 10 days total steps. My daughter wore hers when she went on vacation to England and didn't have a way to sync when she was there.

Umleila and Einatbl...you two are beasts, impressive!

Carieoates, so great your mom is encouraging you. Sounds like she doesn't want to see you follow in her footsteps:) I just read this book. While it is a little cheesy, the underlying message about walking is great. It explains why exercise doubles your calorie deficit since it actually causes your body to have to replace glycogen stores.

Took my dogs on a walk this morning...the heat slowed them down, but we made it back home.
Hi Fitbitters,

I am here in the land of my fathers -or in this case my mother. *waves to Penny from south to North"

My OH managed to lose his Zip in London last week and I have just managed to win a replacement for him on ebay Yay!!!

Carrie go and look on ebay for your Mum there is a Pink one due up soon. Being a techie kind of lady she may appreciate the ebay experience.
There is still a seller on gumtree who is advertising 'ones' for fifty pounds. He says he has a job lot of them. When I asked him, he said he would do that including postage and through paypal which means its covered by paypal buyer protection.

I didn't get mine from him but another gumtree seller. I think it's a really good deal though.
Thank you Linda. I have to admit that i do enjoy the competition, but the other great thing is that i can eat more and fast days are not so bad, because I'm less preoccupied with food and more with steps. just wondering... who is Annscostlass who is leading now in our leaderboard? Does any one know? Is she a member in the 5:2 forum, perhaps with a different user name?
Enjoy your Hols Penny and Carrie and Sian if your are in a holiday too.
For all of those ( for example Tim)who are struggling to get enough steps due to too much work I would recommend an early morning workout. If you are traveling for work try to pick a hotel with a gym. That's what I do.
Good luck.

Thanks Umleila, I will give that a go - like I said its the first time since on the diet i've had this. When I started it was the opposite - almost completely uncontrollable! I think it was my body saying "ok in order to get healthy I need to clean you out first!"
Thanks everyone, we're off to skipton tomorrow for the market . Lets hope I can get everyone else to walk loads. This is the warmest visit to Lancashire I can remember.
@SianS waves from Anglesey!!! WILL post photos when batteries charged tomorrow, hopefully.
I was thinking I recalled Ann being a professional dog walker? I gave up ever having a moment in the 1st place spot. I do like to see how we all do each day and it is particularly cool to watch new users fall in love with their fitbit!

SianS, does the fitbit fasten the same as the One? Want to get my grandson one but didn't know which one is best and least likely to become lost.
