Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

10 posts Page 1 of 1
A weird thing has been happening to me since losing weight.. I'm feeling a bit more energetic and wanting to move more and quicker.. I went to the corner shop and wanted to run there! (I was in no particular hurry) I'm considering running.. has anyone started any new exercise regimes lately that they're sticking to? I've got access to a rebounder so I might start with that...

Oops, just noticed a recent similar topic sorry feel free to move this, if you want.
Im not ready to get out in public and exercise just yet but on my fast day yesterday I felt full of beans so I did a series of jumping jacks in the kitchen. I would do 30 and then take a break (ie do some work) and then when the feeling struck again I would repeat.

Putting on loud music and dancing like a child possessed is another idea

Like! :-)
I've started running - doing the C25K training. If you google it, you can download the programme, I think it's from the NHS website
I started crossfit. Lying in bed contemplating a bike ride for the first time in 3 years...
Running is great, especially as summer is on the way. I only started a year ago, but really enjoy doing 5k every other day. It is cheap (you only need a decent pair of running shoes) and you get the benefit of fresh air too - all those endorphins you get from being outside and doing exercise are very good for you!
I think that if you feel like running then you should give it a go.The couch25k program is pretty good a and once you are confident with that give Parkrun a go.It's a timed 5k that starts at 09:00 every Saturday morning. Here is the link to your local parkrun:-

For people in Scotland, Jog Scotland is there for you, it's fab! I oouldn't run a step but they were really good with me.
I'm about to start week 3 on C25K tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Have been running on the treadmill at the work gym, which is great for maintaining a steady pace on level ground while the weather's been iffy, but I definitely can't wait till I'm running decent chunks at a time and will head outdoors for some proper fresh air!

Did C25K before a few years back, but at a much much slower pace (I was heavier then so in hindsight found it much more difficult) but now I'm at my lightest ever weight, I'm finding it easier (if running can ever truly get 'easy'!) and am running at a quicker pace with no injuries :)
