Fasting Today - Friday 02 May
02 May 2014, 06:42
After 10 days of 5:2 I am still trying to complete my first 500 calorie fast!

I have been entering everything on MFP to get some of idea about portion size and calories. It is helpful, but I do wonder if thinking about food all the time is having a negative effect?

So, ten days after I 'jumped on the 5:2 bandwagon' I hope that tomorrow I can report a successful First Fast!
Well done. I am fasting today too, my third and final this week. Looking forward to the weekend when I can eat what I want! I do a rough calorie count on fast days and have a few set recipes that are within the limit. On feast days I do not calorie count but have found I cannot overeat. With three fasts each week I am hoping i will lose weight this way. This is my first week back and I am going by my clothes rather than weighing for the moment.
I'm fasting today for my last fast of the week!! I am really looking forward to today being over, I'm ready for my weekend.
Hi ì'm on my second fast ever today...Unfortunately also have done an unintentional sleep fast as I still havent fallen asleep. My original plan was to repeat my first fast and have cereal and a seed mix topping for breakfast and then nothing until tea time and have a vegetarian stirfry...however I am going to need to catch up with some sleep eventually at some point so I will stay in bed for a bit longer and see which comes first..sleep or hunger pangs.
Morning fellow fasters I will be joining you today.
Good luck everyone x
I'm in but not for a true fast as were out later probably
3 courses plus wine I'm fasting all day resulting in a 20:4
Good luck all. :clover: :clover: :clover:
@amber - don't worry it will happen. I fell off the band wagon and I'm only back on it now. However, I'm only back 2 weeks and still always above the 500 cals - hovering around 6-800. Therefore its a downward trend. I hope next week to get to 5-600 and so on. Last time I nearly hit my goal and started out around the same but by the end I was liquid fasting so just give it a few weeks to get used to. In 4 weeks you will only have done 8 fasts don't forget so your body takes time to adjust. I'm in for a second fast in a row. I did one yesterday and went over by 2-300 cals I think but I am hoping today will be around 600. Then I'm going to be really strick next week
Throwing my hat in the ring. Third fast of the week.
I'm in! My 100th fast since I began this WOE. My weight is yo yo-ing up a few kilos then back down again, so I am not weighing myself so often.
Happy fasting everyone x
I'm in today for 3rd fast too. Not many of us today. I'm right there with you @bobshouse and @Daydreamer21 looking forward to tomorrow. I feel like I've had a really good week but I feel I've had enough of it, I wonder if that's because I haven't been for my walk today, it has been giving me loads of energy and putting me in a positive mood. Oh well can't go now I have to get some work done, may try to go later. Good luck every, let's get in a good last fast of the week, except you @Sue.q who is going out for dinner. You lucky thing, enjoy, have a good 20:4 :)
Still going strong but seem to be feeling the cold today. Now having a black coffee to help warm me up. OH said it is because I need to eat! Planning a shopping trip this afternoon to keep me on the straight and narrow!
I'm in today! Second fast of the week and still trying to get back down to my elusive target weight again - only one and a half pounds to go. Probably not helped by the 100g of Cadbury Whole Nut chocolate that I ate last night! That is sure to show on the scales tomorrow! :frown:

Wow, @rawkaren, you're really going for it now you're back in the UK and your hubs has had his procedure! Well done!

@Bobshouse, I'm feeling chilly today, too. That's quite strange because I haven't had the 'fasting chills' for ages.
Good luck to everyone fasting today. :clover: Onwards and downwards!
My second ever fast day too. Can't believe how much easier it is today that the first time! Didn't have anything to eat until 11 o'clock, and normally I always have breakfast! Really pleased. Having a friend over for dinner tomorrow, so will have a full blow out then (three courses plus plenty of wine!) feels great to be able to do that without feeling you've fallen off the wagon! Happy fasting, and have a great weekend everyone.
Don't think I ever fasted on a Friday before (if I have, I'm in denial) but so far so good.
Water, water and some more water and a cup of xtremly week veggie broth. Will have Ceasar sallad with grilled chicken great for dinner with just a few crutons :)
Bad side - I'm so cold that my teeth almost chatter...

Plus - doing tax returns (skattedeklaration in Swedish) ain't my idea of fun, specially when you have to try to figure out how to calculate the profit from the sell of shares - gahhhhhh  They have to be submitted on Monday.
Oh, @Wolfie, I feel your pain! I pay someone to do my tax return but still have to do quarterly VAT returns for our family business and I always leave them until the last minute! Every time, I promise myself that I won't do that again - but I always do!
Good luck - at least it will keep your mind off food!
