Welcome back @Andi!

You've done it before....and you can do it again! Good to have you here.

Happy fasting!

I'm in too today, nothing but herbal tea upto now, but my tummy is rumbling... Off for more tea!
Haven't decided what to have for dinner yet, so nothing to look forward to. :frown:
Good luck fasters!

I am starting 5:2 again today and plan to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
Thanks for being there for support.

Welcome back @Andi! I can imagine it must have been hard staying warm and cheerful this Winter specially if u are fasting.

Even here in Dallas it has been a much colder winter with 3 snowfalls (we normally get just 1 if that).

I wasn't good last week either - Went to Arizona for a few days for Anniversary and splurged on good eating.

On fast today - need to make up... Have to stick to strict 500 today.. Hope I persevere...

Cheers everyone!
Fasting today, and its being a bit harder than normal, so much so that instead of just the usual cup of miso at lunchtime, I had some radishes with wasabi and soy around 2ish too. Think it must be down to pmt. Anyway if I carry on feeling hungry after supper (lots of greens with lamb chipolatas and a small baked potato with low fat cream cheese) then I will just head to bed early (or if am feeling strong a yoga class) (I am thinking the early night would be the best idea).
Good luck everyone - @enileme, I'm a 5:2 newbie too, so you're not alone!

I actually looked forward to today's fast after what was just a ridiculous day of overeating yesterday - a family BBQ (bearing in mind my boyfriend is of Cypriot descent that generally means 3x as much food)! I've given up meat for Lent so a lot of willpower was needed to avoid the BBQ - but unfortunately that meant stocking up on carbs and dessert instead. Not good, and I'm quite disappointed in my lack of willpower! But, it has made today easier as until about half an hour ago I still felt full from yesterday.

Pea and mint soup for lunch, just had a couple of rice cakes...not sure what dinner is going to bring. Any ideas what to do with 250 calories? I'm thinking fruit and veg as I can't be bothered to cook anything.

One thing I am discovering during this fasting journey is new flavours of teas: this week it's Tick Tock's red bush with honey, ginger and lemon. Lovely!

Hope everyone's powering through! I've already got a cream tea lined up for tomorrow :)
Auriga wrote: I am 'in' today.....courgette bake tonight with a huge salad...can't wait. Good luck everyone.

Yum...do you have a recipie for this please @Auriga
Hi, I'm in today, I've made it through the working day on just sparkling water, coffee and skimmed milk.

@enileme Good luck with the run - I never really feel like exercising too much on fasting days, though I have gone for a quick run before breakfast the day after once or twice. I prefer walking on down days, it just seems to work better for me. Hope you find something that suits you.

Grate one courgette, one large onion  into a large bowl. Place some kitchen paper over this to soak up the liquid. Chop two large mushrooms, sauté and add to the bowl. Add a tablespoon of ground almonds, some fresh herbs and an egg. Mix thoroughly. Put in a NON-stick smallish oven proof dish and bake for 40 mins at 160*C. Serve either with a large green salad or green veg like asparagus. Approx. 300 cals altogether I think.
I'm in too - Day mostly done here!

@Auriga thanks, simple, I can do that. I've just had roasted aubergine bake. That's nice and simple too. Now class..
Turkey's-a-cooking and tummy's-a-rumbling! Nearly there peeps :like:
Fasting here too! This morning, I saw the scale go down even after a loaded weekend with lots of wine. We'll see what it is on Friday...fingers crossed. :) Hope everyone's day/night is a success!
Apparently the cream tea couldn't wait until tomorrow...I'm out! But not feeling awful as I really savoured it and have still only had about 1000 cals for the day. First failed fast though :( hope everyone else makes it to the end!
I've nearly made it through! Just finished my four cheese ravioli with added cabbage and cauliflower. Very delish.

Hope you've all bean good today and I guess you're all looking forward to tomorrow!

Bean :starving:
Yippee! Made it through with 541 total. Better than my last few. Was able to make it to dinner, then had some winter garden soup (1.5 cups for 68 cal) & bean enchiladas (350). Needed something right before bed, so had some lean roast beast to final things up. One more done! See you next time.
