I'm in today. Just getting started here on the west coast. Isn't it weird that most of you are all done with your day while I'm just getting up.
That is weird, yes! If it makes you feel any better Swan...I still haven't eaten yet

I'm fasting today! Hope it's a good one, as I had a bit of a struggle with my last one on Thursday. I started off well, no food until about 5, but then all kinds of family drama and surprise visitors and I lost my resolve with chips and drinks! Oh well, today is a new day, and I'm sure my 17 hours of fasting helped a bit.
It's so hot, sunny and beautiful here, it's fascinating to hear everyone complaining about the cold. Gorgeous day at the beach yesterday. Don't worry, we'll reverse that soon enough!
Good luck everyone!
And to the newbies - just like Stowgate said: keep up your normal caffeine levels and have something salty to help with a headache. I enjoy a bouillion cube, or 16 calorie spicy seaweed pack if I'm uncomfortable.
I'm fasting today. Tummy already talking back, I think it's because I was quite active running and biking over the weekend, even though I ate quite well. I'll be having some lean beef and shredded red cabbage soaked in lime juice along with a very small portion of mixed fruit. Good luck to all Monday fasters !
It is a beautiful sunny summer day here in Missouri and I am in the middle of my Monday fast. Hope everyone has a great day!
How are things in Missouri today?? @Tammae, doesn't look good on our tv's.
I guess you are referring to the St. Louis area where it IS a mess. I live 80 miles south of there but will be traveling AROUND the city tomorrow to my destination across the state. We are disgusted with the thugs looting businesses and throwing homemade bombs. I myself can not believe how long this has occurred. Makes a person very insecure about how our cities would respond to an emergency in the future if something worse would happen. A young man was killed... and people are using his sad death as an excuse to destroy the city... So disrespectful.
I finally broke my fast at 6.30 pm, it will be well over 500 cals but never mind.
Thanks to everyone for your good wishes, I can honestly say it didn't hurt - not the most fun I've ever had on a Monday afternoon but not painful. Watching my insides in glorious technicolour as the camera probed around was an interesting experience
Going to come in at around 500kcals today but that includes kayaking for 2 hrs, being caught in a thunderstorm, etc. :)

Good Fortune be with those whose day starts later and are still fasting. :)
Thanks everyone for your best wishes on my first day in my new job. Needless to say my head is bursting with all the information that has been thrown at me. As there was three of us doing the induction today I decided to have a 'normal' lunch as I couldn't be bothered explaining myself. That is all I have eaten today though so I might well have been within 500cals so I'm quite happy with that. I'm off now to unpick the hem on my uniform trousers and iron the rest of the uniform.
I'm pretty smug because my ready meal was just 365 calories. Mind you I have been having splodges of milk in my coffee today (I just can't do black coffee) so I guess that increases the calories intake some what!

Glad your "experience' is over Sian. And relax...
Sorry to hear@Tammae
It's disgraceful when an unruly element take advantage like you say of a very sad situation just to loot and act lawlessly x
@Tammae It is so sad people are angry and have no other way of being heard, yes unfortunately there are always opportunist who will take advantage of situations like this, if only the police hadn't shot and KILLED someones child UNLAWFULLY. My heart goes out to the young mans family, I can only imagine how angry they are. Time for the police to be accountable for their actions. This officer needs to go to prison. The kid was on his knees with his hands up, the officer could have just cuffed him, but the officer shot him 6 times in the back. And then they tried to blacken his name to justify the unlawful killing (murder).
Sorry for getting all political, not something I normally do on here, but how dare the police do this and then say the people are in the wrong for being angry. RIP Michael Brown
Greetings, everyone!

I'm here in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. I just started this lifestyle last Thursday, and today is my second fasting day-- so far so good! I've got 4 and 6 year-old boys who are thankfully at a karate camp this morning. School starts for them next week-- celebration!

It's 12:30 pm here, and I just had my first meal of 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup blueberries and half a scoop of vanilla protein powder. My evening meal will be butter lettuce cups filled with chicken teriyaki meatballs and a drizzle of hoisin. I also had some french vanilla coconut milk creamer in my coffee this morning (20 calories per tablespoon and delicious!). I'll probably have a cup of miso broth to fight off the 3 pm hungries.

I'm looking forward to hearing your tips and trips and to get support for those tough 500 calorie days!
It's 4:30, so time for my cup of cocoa made with almond milk, erythritol and a bit of Splenda sugar free syrup.

The day flew by since I got very busy with my project again.

Re the weather discussions, It's downright cold here in New England for the middle of August, and the whole summer has been so unusually cool that my garden flowers are coming up very late. Unfortunately, it is also cold enough that we are likely to see a very early first frost. This summer reminds me of one I spent in Vermont, very close to the Canadian border back in the very early 1980s. It hasn't been that cool ever since--until now.

For those who are starting out fasting need some help, this might not be the best place to post. Why not start a new topic where people can chime in and share their tips with you?
