I might be on here throughout the day looking for support as the longest i've ever been without food is few hours

:clover: Welcome 'LFB' Good Luck with your fasting, I hope you get everything you want out of it! :star: :star: :star:
loversghost wrote: @Loulou51 I am menopausal and I find the night sweats are much worse when I eat lots of carbs. Also these days I don't feel great when I eat too many either so maybe it is that that;s making you feel yukky.

I'm in today - I am going to hand my notice in at work this morning and I imagine it will go down like a lead balloon (but hey, no-one's indispensable and they should have seen it coming so I am not going to feel guilty about it) so I am not really feeling much like eating anyway. Wish me luck peeps! Also I've been being a bit lax with the old fasting thing of late so today is a NEW START. New job, new motivation to finally get to my target.

:clover: Good Luck today with getting back on the bandwagon with your Fast Day :victory:
What prompted the job change? Sorry if I missed your previous thread on it as the dogs and grandchildren have kept me otherwise engaged! Sometimes I think I live in a Madhouse with everything that goes on here! Who said retirement was staid and boring
I'm in!
Fasting today , was happy with my 3lb loss last week after my return to this WOE. Now the not so hard work begins, just got to keep the momentum going!
I'm in for today - went to a cheese and wine party over the weekend so looking forward to a cleansing 500 cal day today!

Good luck all :clover:
I'm in today as well for my usual Monday fast. I'm planning a small baked potato with tuna and cheese after my pilates class at 7pm tonight. I've no idea how many calories that is but I'm not going to worry about it as I know I will be satisfied afterwards. In the meantime I've had a large glass of water for breakfast and will be filling up on herbals teas throughout the day - fennel and apple & cinnamon today.

@lazyfatboy, you will no doubt feel hungry with a loud growling stomach, you will do doubt start fantasising about all the 'naughty' food you would like to eat, you'll probably feel cold but you won't keel over and die from hunger let alone pass out! Just remember one of our mottos - 'you can have it tomorrow'. I often find myself wanting peanut butter by the time evening comes but the following morning I very rarely have it.

@loversghost, good luck for today, come back and tell us how you get on. I changed job 6 months ago and I was more nervous handing in my notice than I was starting my new job.
@Sallyo (and all others fasting) - I have joined you today! Wasn't sure if I would - we were going out to lunch - but I managed to find a tasty very low carb option, which left me with enough cals for a veggie stir fry this evening. :) I was going to defer the fast to Tues, but am so glad I was able to do it today. :)

We visited the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne - for the first time, I am ashamed to say. It is lovely! We did a longish walk before lunch, then after lunch explored all the contemporary landscaped gardens. Was good to see so many families there too. :)

Best wishes and good luck to fellow fasters! :clover:
In for a fast here in the snowy NE of the USA. Where I am we will only get 4-6 inches of snow......NYC & Boston are going to get much, much more. Be safe everyone!

I ate with abandon on Friday & Saturday, but managed a "half fast" yesterday....about 1200 calories. Scale is up a pound from Friday. I'm not giving up, but 2/10 ths of a pound after 3 weeks seems a bit ridiculous. I'm waiting for the magic I've read so much about. Hope I'm not the exception to the rule.

Have good fasting days everyone!

I am a practice nurse in a GP surgery of 7,500 pts and there's just me. WAY too stressful for one person and I have done it for a while now so I finally applied for (and got) a job last week which will suit me much better and I told them today. They were (so far) very nice about it and I think they get it. But the relief is immense - I have been going to work with a feeling of dread and working 45 hour weeks and I just don't want the hassle any more. I think the stress has made me take my eye off the ball fasting wise and I feel I can get back into it properly now. Thanks for asking @Oscarthewestie and @wildmissus :-)
I'm in today, much needed after a very indulgent Burns night party
@loversghost you give me hope :-)
I am working 50/60 hour weeks in a job (I only get paid for 35) where there used to be 12 people in my team by the end of this month there will be just 2 of us .. and the work hasn't gone down any as the people have been let go.

Well done on getting out of there and don't give them a second thought ,if they had treated you better I am sure you would have stayed!

Sending you a virtual celebratory drink for after your fast
Well it took me long enough to leave@RedRobin and I worried all weekend but now I feel loads better - life is too short to run yourself ragged at work. Hope you get something different soon :-)
I am in today. I thought I was getting better so we went out saturday afternoon. Big mistake as I felt awful yesterday and hardly ate anything. I just want to feel well again. so no running again this week and plenty of rest.
Happy Aussie day !
Fasting today :) new here, and almost new to fasting. Did it for a while last summer, but need to start all over again! (good thing is I have maintained the loss!)
hello every one and happy Aussie day
I am in too . so far so good still not hungry
have a good day every one and good luck :clover:
I'm in again today after an erratic week last week... my Mum's in the hospital awaiting a bypass surgery which they're planning to do tomorrow. While I don't think I overdid things last week, I definitely didn't follow the normal fast day approach. :( I realised that for me, a big part of the process being a success is being able to cook my own fasting meals... trying to eat out/convenience food shop on a fast day doesn't seem to work for me. And I guess, when all's said and done, being worried about my mum just took precedence over worrying about my own diet concerns. And that's life, isn't it... fasting today just seems to be giving me a sense of trying to keep things normal to some extent, if that makes sense.

I know you all don't know me very well, but you're all such a positive group.. if I could just ask for some good thoughts to be sent tomorrow to my mum for a successful surgery tomorrow, I'd be ever so grateful.

Thanks.
