Yes. Me too me too.
Goodness, people are dealing with a lot today!

I might be on here throughout the day looking for support as the longest i've ever been without food is few hours

@lazyfatboy Best wishes for your first FD and I hope it's more straightforward than you'd otherwise anticipate. After a while, you might realise how much it was habit that you ate every few hours rather than actual desire for food. Good Luck!

@loversghost Sounds completely plausible to me. At present it seems that employers are content to burn people out without due care to their longer-term welfare. A lesson that took me a long time to learn, "Just because you're loyal to your work doesn't mean that they'll ever be loyal to you". You're well out of there and good luck with the new post.

if I could just ask for some good thoughts to be sent tomorrow to my mum for a successful surgery tomorrow, I'd be ever so grateful.

Well @LadanTrying, that looks like a large slice of *life* that came calling and you've picked up some useful knowledge from that about what does and doesn't work for you. Stress is no friend to weight loss in the long term so it's important to do what you can and not overtax yourself. And, of course - I hope your mother's procedure is straightforward and she makes as swift a recovery as plausible.
LadanTrying wrote: I'm in again today after an erratic week last week... my Mum's in the hospital awaiting a bypass surgery which they're planning to do tomorrow. While I don't think I overdid things last week, I definitely didn't follow the normal fast day approach. :( I realised that for me, a big part of the process being a success is being able to cook my own fasting meals... trying to eat out/convenience food shop on a fast day doesn't seem to work for me. And I guess, when all's said and done, being worried about my mum just took precedence over worrying about my own diet concerns. And that's life, isn't it... fasting today just seems to be giving me a sense of trying to keep things normal to some extent, if that makes sense.

I know you all don't know me very well, but you're all such a positive group.. if I could just ask for some good thoughts to be sent tomorrow to my mum for a successful surgery tomorrow, I'd be ever so grateful.

Thanks.

:clover: Speedy Recovery to your mum after surgery. :rose:
I know this must be a very worrying time for you, just take it easy on yourself, mum will recover well when she knows your not anxious. I find it easier to fast when I do all my own home cooking and I stop myself a little before I need to when eating, because I realise after I didn't need so much. Even though I have reduced my dinner plate to a small tea plate, I've become aware now when I have had enough, one time I used to polish off a large plate like my husband had, then still be looking for desert and snacks well into the evening. It's hard to be self-disciplined at times but when I've had a good day I feel really pleased and with luck at my weekly weigh-in the scales will keep me happy. I know tomorrow I can take things a bit easier and at the weekend I allow myself a treat.
I am in today. I started this program in November and still am waiting for the fasting to get easier. It seems so many talk about how easy it is and I am wondering if I will ever get to that place.

Sending loads of good wishes for your mum to have a speedy recovery - it must be a very worrying time for you so hope all is well soon.
I'm in today. Back for real........been playing at it since Christmas!
Not letting it slip too far though.
I'm off to get my lunch now - such big choices, should I have fennel tea or apple and cinnamon tea!

@LadanTrying, my thoughts are with you and your mum and I wish her a speedy recovery.

@loversghost, well done you. I believe we make our own choices in life but I must admit it gets harder to make those changes as I get a bit older - better the devil you know. Whilst the job I do now isn't without its own stresses just going for the interview and getting the job gave me such a confidence boost.

@lazyfatboy, how are you getting on, are you still with us?
@wildmissus
I sure am. I can't quite believe it as I've not even felt hungry yet today and I'm just back in from a 7 mile cycle ride. I can hear a black coffee shouting on me though
Thanks for remembering me.

Fasting today , was happy with my 3lb loss last week after my return to this WOE. Now the not so hard work begins, just got to keep the momentum going!

Snap! I had 3lbs loss last week too, first proper week back on it since last summer so very pleased. Now to keep it up! Also started the TurboFire 90 day DVD programme last week and so far very impressed (and exhausted!). Fasting today, had 3 white coffees so far and homemade butternut squash & lentil soup for tea methinks.
Good luck everyone fasting today and Happy Australia day to our antipodean friends
@LadanTrying just adding my good wishes to everyone else's, go a little easy on yourself at such a stressful time and take care , fingers and toes crossed for your mum :clover:
Phooey! Theres quite a lot of you "in' today aren't there..
Firstly...@LadanTrying. I am sending positive vibes and hope that your mum's procedure goes smoothly. I'm sure its a stressful time for you all so don't be worrying about fasting on top of that. Hugs to you xx
Hey @lazyfatboy! It sounds as though you're having an excellent first Fast day (try saying that when you've had a few!) Plus, on top of being hungry...you've cycled 7 miles?! I'm very impressed I must say
Just a small query @wildmissus? Did you mean 'growling' stomach by any chance?!!
@Curlycurvy (love the name!). I hope today is going well for you. Glad to hear you've decided to give it another go.
@Loversghost...good for you! I bet you feel so relieved now that you've finally done the deed. I was like you...I worked long hours in a GP surgery...the only full-time nurse. I guess it was more stressful than I thought because I now have ME!
What sort of hours are you working now?
And finally...@Carieoates and @Candicemarie? Glad to see you're both "in" today too. Good luck with your lunch experiment Candy!
Blimey, that was hard going. It must be time to eat now...surely!! :starving:
 , @nursebean, growing stomach indeed...........yes, it should have read growling stomach.
@nursebean[quotelong hours in a GP surgery...the only full-time nurse. I guess it was more stressful than I thought because I now have ME!

[/quote]

I am working around 45 hours a week at the moment but will (hopefully) be working 30. I say 'hopefully' because the practice manager has suddenly decided I need to give them 6 weeks notice and I have told the new practice 4 so I have to wait to hear if that will affect my job offer - hopefully not but I worry but she was positively gloating so the sooner I leave the better!
I'm here today! Mondays are usually my easiest fast day. I'm working this week on controlling my non-fast days. This is where I think I'm tripping up. Yesterday I tried skipping breakfast on a non-fast day and that went well. I may try that again tomorrow. I'm not usually very hunger in the morning anyway
I'm fasting today but haven't had time up until now to get to my computer. Usual black, decaff tea all day for me - six mugs so far! I've only just had a chance to read all the posts and have already forgotten who I wanted to mention but @LadenTrying - I hope your mother's surgery goes well, positive vibes winging your way! All the newbies and returners just keep on, keeping on. Keep busy, keep hydrated and step away from the naughty food! You can have it tomorrow!
