Fasting today, Australia Day - Invasion Day as some call it. Here I am in Geelong, wedding over and much eaten and drunk! Today I have volunteered to cook dinner - which was my way to ensure that I get a suitable fasting dinner. Also Lyn who lives here doesn't like cooking so it's a nice way to contribute to the household. John is doing ADF and he won't eat. At the wedding we had a conversation with 2 other 5:2 fasters, one, the uncle of the bride on the other side of the family, has been only doing it for 4 months and is very pleased to have lost quite a bit of weight. Of course I told them about the forum. The other one was my sister's friend who has lost 10 kg in a bit over a year. They all eat 3 meals a day and were amazed at the idea of not eating until dinner, but here I am with my black coffee.

Good luck fellow start-the-week fasters :clover:

Have a fab Australia Day! I have a friend holidaying in Sydney with her son and grandaughters. The weather looks stunning from her photos on FB.
Happy Oz Day to our Aussie fasters x!

Could be i' ll be eating lunch rather than dinner so it will be quite a different day for me x
Good luck all! :clover:
Enjoy Australia Day!

I'm in for my Monday fast as part of my 4:3 (tho' it really began after brunch today, Sunday :) ).

:clover: for my fellow Monday fasters.
Have a happy holiday and enjoy all that wonderful heat and long summer nights!

I'll be fasting come sun up, awaiting what is now predicted to be 30 inches of snow on Tuesday. I sure hope I'm not so hungry tomorrow while fasting. If I am, I may do 735 rather than 435 calories. But I'll try to get through 5pm before deciding.
No heat here in Geelong! I am wearing my polo fleece jacket which I threw into the car at the last minute to wear on the ferry if I was on deck in Tassie waters. I never imagined I would need it here! Currently a chilly 18 degrees C. I'm even wearing sox. Fasting going well. I am roasting a chook for dinner and I have made a pot of ratatouille. Have another cup of tea!
Quiet here, for a Monday. I guess all the Australians, except me. are celebrating Australia Day and not fasting. I will welcome those further west when it gets to day time there. Just been for a walk in Geelong. I think my pedometer has a flat battery as it isn't telling the correct time and isn't measuring as many steps as I think I am doing. I saw one vegetable garden and one Australia Day party. what can you conclude from that? I did see a lot more houses with solar panels, so that's something. Picked tarragon from that vegetable garden which unusually was growing at the front of the house. Now the chicken is stuffed with a lemon and tarragon. Getting hungry now.
Happy holiday, downunder

I'm in, too. Funny side effect from my fasting activities is that my average biking kilometers per day have gone up from 12 to 50. Yesterday it were even 75. I have so much extra energy that I have to move. It's a force. May the force stay with me and all of you who experience the same.

Have a good, successful :victory: FD all

I'm in today. After an excellent start last week on the Equinox Challenge I then over indulged on carbs at the weekend. Not only have I put all the lbs back on but I'm feeling really odd and had terrible night sweats. Could be the carbs, could be something else who knows but I now need to undo the damage.
I'm sat here with my first black coffee of the day too. Today is my first ever Fast Day!
I might be on here throughout the day looking for support as the longest i've ever been without food is few hours
@Loulou51 I am menopausal and I find the night sweats are much worse when I eat lots of carbs. Also these days I don't feel great when I eat too many either so maybe it is that that;s making you feel yukky.

I'm in today - I am going to hand my notice in at work this morning and I imagine it will go down like a lead balloon (but hey, no-one's indispensable and they should have seen it coming so I am not going to feel guilty about it) so I am not really feeling much like eating anyway. Wish me luck peeps! Also I've been being a bit lax with the old fasting thing of late so today is a NEW START. New job, new motivation to finally get to my target.
Happy Australia Day @Sallyo wishing you a great day and a great fast :-)

I'm in today and I think it might be a tough one as I woke up rumbling before the day had even begun !

I thought I had eaten a lot yesterday as we had a pub meal with friends at lunch time but looking back I probably didn't it was a small spiced chicken breast and some roasted peppers/tomatoes/olives etc.. and half a pint of beer , as I had no idea how to work the calories out in that I didn't eat again in the evening just a handful of baked bagel chips and a lot of black coffee .. so maybe I didn't eat as much as I thought

Ahh well here is to a good fast and a good week for everyone

Best of luck @lazyfatboy it wont be half as bad as you think !
One cup of roast chicken is about 250 calories. plus ratatouille - about 100 calories and a glass of pinot grigio, 120 calories. It is the coldest Australia day in Melbourne for 17 years. I have made it. Good luck to newbies -@lazyfatboy and everyone else just starting out today.
