Good luck with your fasts; I'm still on my 8 Dec fast so I hope you won't mind if I don't join you ;-)
Gosh it's busy here, I forget that all you east coast people are so far ahead of me. I'm in today, off for a medical shortly so I shall have to run the gauntlet of city food outlets, but I shall be strong!
Warm and sunny here, top of 29 today, but high 30s by the end of the week, ggrrrrr!
Good luck all.
Yes. Already nearly midday. Have only had a coffee with a dash of milk so far (+ lots of water of course). Tummy had a good rumble 15 min ago - I give myself a mental pat on the back when I get them.
I will be too - when it's morning here....!
Have had a week of eating and drinking a bit too well (a friend's birthday party and drinks) oso I'm hoping for a good result after 2 focused repair days this week!!
Good luck guys
Aaaargh! It is 1.35pm. I have used up half of my calories for the day. I am on Fast #12 and I am incredibly hungry. Unbelievably hungry. The worst I have experienced ever on 5:2. I just keep telling myself that it's just a wave and it will pass...but I've been surfing this one for about an hour. Too much indulgence yesterday...

Breakfast - Two beef vindaloo sausages
Lunch - Curried Meat Pie
Snack - Six pea pastizzis
Dinner - Curried tuna and pasta bake.
Snack - 1 apricot
Snack - 3 Lindt Lindor balls.

I am usually very good on non-fast days but Christmas is approaching...Plus I never usually eat red meat at all and I went for a double dose yesterday. Really lost my head.

Then along comes today...Can of Chicken and vegetable soup.

And you know what...for some crazy reason...from the time of starting this post to the time of finishing it...the hunger pangs have passed. Thank you once again Forum.
Well done, Fishbaum! Funny how you get so ravenous and then you can take your mind off it and it goes.

I'm in today; reporting in rather late. It's 2.20pm. I've had coffee with a splash of milk, 3 cups of black tea and I'm pretty hungry.

We had a big weekend with lots of eating and drinking and this is perhaps the first time when I've had that 'I really am looking forward to a fast' feeling which is so often reported here. I'd easily give it up now, the hungry end of the day, but i'll stay strong: salad and cold chicken, or beef for dinner.
Fishbaum what you had yesterday isn't bad at all! Plus it was a feast day and Sunday! I'm impressed.

I managed to get through..
Some posh bread.
2/3 bottle of sparkling wine, OK maybe most of the bottle
Most of a bag if crisps
2 or 3 vodka, lime and soda
About 10 slices of Dominos pizza
And a slush puppy

And I wonder why I'm up on the scales today!

Lil
I'll be having a chicken, veg, and shiratake stir fry.
3pm here and all going good so far, not really been hungry yet. Stir fry for us, seems that's all I've been cooking on fast days lately. Must get back into my recipe books.
I'm in too. Had a lovely trip away Fri-Sat and enjoyed lots of delicious food but need to make sure to stick to today's fast as this week has our 20th wedding anniversary celebrations on Wednesday/Thursday including an overnight stay at a hotel, and a Christmas party on Saturday. Might move my usual Thursday fast to Friday...

I hope you hear only good news Wineoclock  and hope everyone manages to navigate those hunger pangs successfully - remember you only have to wait until tomorrow, you can do that! :clover:

Regarding favourite things to eat at Christmas, mine are the original Finnish gingerbreads - they are nice and thin and have a delicious blend of ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom instead of being overly ginger-y. I could pretty much do without everything else but for me Christmas doesn't come without the gingerbreads; I usually make a big batch of them a few days before but freeze one trayful so that I can then bake that on Christmas Eve and have that delicious smell wafting throughout the house!
@AiriR- the smell you describe is just too evocative for a fast day!

I'm here after a swim and a visit to Mum and then rushing around doing "jobs".
I bought some silver edible shine to dust on cut out stars for topping mini Christmas cakes,- when I used it it didn't shine! So I took it back!
Weight was up this morning and I didn't think I'd eaten too badly- hopefully it's fluid and will be gone tomorrow.
Have a good fast everyone.
Finding it really hard today. I must have gone back to this site at least four times and it's not even 4pm.

Ended up eating a punnet of strawberries and a small miso soup for lunch. I am onto my third pot of herbal tea (green, peppermint and now liquorice). Can't wait to eat the Mexican pizza (from the cookbook) tonight. I will also steam about 500 gr of green beans as one small pita bread won't do tonight. :starving:

I keep telling myself that I have not failed a fast day since starting, and I have not a 'spare' day left, but the way I am going I'll be in bed by 8pm! :frown:
I'm fasting today, in fact the day is almost over...have eaten nothing since dinner last night and looking forward to chicken stirfry tonight after which I won't eat until breakfast time tomorrow. It hasn't been hard yet (4 fast days almost done). Will see what happens in a few weeks when the novelty wears off.
Reading back through this forum, I see quite a few other Aussies here. I am from NSW, inland north west. Hi from me:)
I'm in. After a four days long weekend, lots of eating and 0,5kg up. But given that I was at a pre-Christmas party Friday, out for beers Saturday, spaghetti for breakfast and pizza for dinner + baking and eating christmas cookies - it is just as deserved. I need to take myself together now. :-)
