Morning all!

I am up and ready to fast after nibbling on some delicious handmade chocolates last night. That and a little glass of white wine (or maybe two) means I am totally ready for fasting today!

Good luck all and especially my buddy @Lizbean who is being a champion motivator! :clover:

Hi all, I am fasting today, so far so good. Had a trip into Melbourne today so that really helped pass the time. Have just had a black coffee - second for the day, but I have them half strength - and it's almost time to make dinner. Steak and veg for the menfolk, salmon and veg for me (I love mashing it all together, which the others can't understand at all), followed by berries and no fat no added sugar yoghurt. I never tire of this combo, which is my std fast day fare.

I fasted on Tues, and may again on Sat - will attempt 4:3 to shift the lbs put on over the last week when I seriously overindulged (NOT recorded in progress tracker...)

Best wishes to my fellow fasters! :D

NB @mousie I sort of understand why you have gone back to uni at age 52. I retired aged 55 but have realised I need something to keep my brain from atrophying, so my trip Into Melb was to discuss a research/analysis proposal with former colleagues. I now have 2 weeks to develop the full proposal... What are you studying?
@Sassy1 I am studying a degree in Nutrition. When I first started 5:2 I was very interested in the science behind fasting and came across this forum with the excellent work that Carorees does in the explaining it all. I am a health services researcher now, so read up on a lot of things and decided that I wanted to know more, but my original degree is psychology so decided that I would go back to do an undergraduate degree instead of a postgrad.

Good luck with your proposal - I know what it's like to do one in such a short turn around
I'm in. I'm off to see my grandparents as it's there 66 wedding anniversary today.
Morning Everyone, I'm in as usual for Thursday. Had friends over for tea yesterday and enjoyed a cake or three, so I must get back on track today.
We shall have a Rosemary Conley chicken recipe tonight followed by melon and mango salad.
Happy fasting all!
Nearly didn't fast today because we had a late grandchildren visit (there's been 5 little wonders in two days) meant I ate late so it's not going to be the full 24 hours. I can probably get 21 hours, it will have to do, feel it will be good for me as it is.
Good luck everyone :0)
Hello everyone! *waves* I'm in today - first and only one of the week. It's been a strange week, working away and getting hit with a lurghi. Intended to fast yesterday (a travel day) and Friday (another travel day) but I'm still a bit wobbly. Sleeping 14 hours at a time will hopefully help. Coffee so far but am definitely feeling a bit spaced out. I'll see how I do and won't be hard on myself if I feel that food is required. I have half of a spinach, cheese and walnut fatayer sitting awaiting poached eggs for when I do eat and it'll be lovely.
Good luck fellow fasters :clover:
Hi guys this is my first post!! Been on 5:2 for two weeks now this is my fourth fast day. Impressed with my loss the first week! I am hungry already today and feeling a bit short tempered despite eating late enough last night (psychological huh !) and now have to take some little ones to a bake sale :( I am a childminder! Gonna have a chicken fajita for dinner and salad, but will have something light earlier in day as last week I saved all my calories for dinner and
Went to bed hungrier than I usually do so think I just waited too long. It's trial and error isn't it? Happy fast day everyone hope it goes quickly !
Hello and welcome Murphf. Well done on your first fasts. It is, as you say, trial and error, and we get there eventually. Good luck with your day and do keep dropping in to let us know how you get on :clover:
Good morning everyone! I'm in too! My third of the week. Progress so far is brilliant and at the rate I'm going I should make my Easter Challenge. I can't believe it!!

Good luck everyone :smile

Nearly bedtime, and I'm playing the distraction game. Ha! Hungry but determined.

Janeg, hope you feel better, sleep often the best thing.
I'm in! Had grapefruit for brekkie. Fish fingers(at 2-year-old's request!) and veg for tea. Was feelingstrong until we just made chocolate Easter nest cakes at playgroup! It was extremely hard not to steal a mini egg! :-\
Good luck everyone! :-)
Well I just got forced into drinking half a glass of chardonnay to toast my grandparents so may be 700 cals rather than 500 today.
I'm all done! In bed reading the forum listening to the rain outside. Fasted till dinner then had a small chicken and vege soup and a small teriyaki chicken broccoli stir fry.
Well I have all my lovely little preschoolers settling in nicely but looked in the loo wondering why 2 little 4 year olds were standing there looking guilty- till I saw snipped hair on the floor and craft scissors behind ones back! Turns out they decided to try cutting their own hair!
Xxx
Funny how that sort of thing spans the world. I'm sure my sis had cases of that in her nursery in the UK.
