I am in today. Doing back to back, I fasted yesterday and trying to budge the plateau I've been on since Christmas.
I have got on all right today. Very hungry but I was on the go. Had a delicious dinner of poached chicken salad with cucumber, bean sprouts, lots of mint, coriander and chives from the garden and a dressing made of fish sauce, lemon juice, red wine vinegar. It was so yummy, and very fresh.

Thank you all for your comments about banks. We have signed up to join Members Equity bank which is owned by superannuation funds. It seems good. They don't have any branches so you do it all on line but there aren't any fees or anything. I can have lots of little accounts to save money for various projects and it doesn't cost me anything. It is a relief to be able to withdraw my money from that other pack of robbers.

I am hoping to see a little drop in the scales tomorrow.

@Auriga - Good luck with the dreaded plateau :clover: :clover:
I'm just about to devour a black coffee.

Aim to eat my small meal about 2 or 3pm, then that's it until breakfast tomorrow (I think that's how it works?)
I'm in today - first fast of the week.

So envious of the people out East - your day is just ending and I'm just starting!!

I've decided to lose a couple more pounds to give me a buffer should I gain a few pounds (like I did over the holidays). My new target is 126, so have 3.5 to lose, should be do'able with 5:2

It's ironic how determined I can be when I know I have to lose pounds; why do I have a harder time maintaining and not be able to stay disciplined about what/how much I eat - sigh
Jen - maintaining is the hard part for everyone. It's not as exciting as trying to reach a goal and it's FOREVER! But, I feel it will be easier with 5:2. I think fasting once a week will be easy! (we'll see when I get there though!)

Lanky - you should eat 500 calories. How you do it is up to you. I choose to eat breakfast (about 150 calories) and then dinner (about 350 calories.) Other people choose to save their 500 calories for dinner and some people choose to eat 3 small meals throughout the day. Good luck!
Ah, I thought the idea was to eat those 500 in one sitting?
no Lanky you can eat them however you like. I like to keep them until dinner time and have a decent meal. I keep it together with an instant miso soup at about 2pm and lots of cups of tea.
Lanky, as a male you can eat 600 cals on your fasting day and how you split them up is entirely up to you. Many people find however that once you start eating it's hard to stop and makes you feel even hungrier, hence why so many save the bulk of their calories for a satisfying evening meal of protein and veg. Try different ways to see what suits you best!
Thanks for the clarification.
I'm in today, back2back with tomorrow, doing pretty well so far having only eaten 250 of my 600 so far!
Help, fast day today and I really want to stick to it. Just had porridge approx 260 cals and am planning a huge salad for later this evening. However this evening we are going to our boy's old school to present a prize, there will be wine, biscuits, crisps etc on off and I know how hard they will to resist. Only 4 weeks till I go away and I want to loose as much as I can before we go. Any advice??
Eat your salad before you go to the 'do'?

I'm on my second coffee of the working day, and doing ok considering I haven't eaten since last night. Mind you I did have a biggish dinner followed by an avocado.

Should be ok to go a couple more hours without before eating today's calories.
The only problem is that if I eat before the "do" a)I will actually feel more like eating at the "do" and b) I'll be very hungry later.
Two hours to go till dinner time, this is the part of a Fast day I really don't enjoy. Much coffee and 2 sugar-free Werther so far and a Waitrose Love Life fish pie with a hug bowl of steamed veg planned :starving:
