I had a tin of Princes mackerel in tom sauce, total 250 calories, and aim to have a small frying steak with tonnes of pepper at about 6.30. If I measure it correctly, it should take me to about 550 cals.
I'm in today, coming towards the end of the working day, have had lots of coffee with skimmed milk and fruit tea, and managed to avoid the temptation of free pastries at a meeting.

We have some home-made 90 calorie soup for dinner already made for tonight, will perhaps top this up with raw veg, then have an early night!
Over the hump now. Had my steak with mustard. That's it until tomorrow. I'm on 558 calories today.
Had a good day fasting today. Held out dinner on peppermint tea and a kiwi and had two small pieces of fish and veg for dinner and still have 200 cals left for this evening. So why am I feeling so miserable. :frown:
Maybe because I have to spend a few more hours on assignment work and have no energy or enthusiasm for
Fancy something sweet right now but not sure what to go for. Mmmmmm
Not a bad dilemma to have newlife  I am currently debating the merits of a Muller light chocolate thing or a couple of clementines. And I'll still have enough calories for a low cal Hot Choc at bedtime.
Do any of those ideas sound appealing?
Just about to tuck in to my home made Roast Garlic and Cauliflower soup, this stuff is gorgeous!! Defo going to be my evening meal of choice for fast days (and maybe even normal days) :)

Well done mate, stick to it, it gets easier :)
coming to the end of my first ever fast day now! haven't eaten anything yet and have survived so far so its all good! :) just about to have a small spag bol for dinner at just over 400 calories... can't believe how easy its been, I will be continuing with this 100%! :)
Well my liquid fast was doing well, till hubby left a sausage and some peas on his plate. So, its no longer a liquid fast. I'm still coming in at under 100kcals. Thankfully it didn't trigger my hunger switch. Its still 3 hours till betime, I'm suffering from the cold (I always get cold on a fast day) and have a sinusitis headache. But it will mostly be better tomorrow.

I was going to ask if it was really bad to fast 2 consecutive days - I did yesterday then just haven't been very hungry today so thought I could do another - wasn't sure if I had seen something about not doing 2 days on the run though ?? I'm contemplating 4:3 to try and speed things up a bit - any advice?
Well, this fast day ends for me - had to cave into a cup of tea, dash milk and fraction of (brown) sugar, plus six cherry tomatoes.

Still, well under the 600 cal mark, so I guess I have done ok.

Two days 'normal' eating now, but will be very moderate, then a fast again Friday.

The fun part of fasting, so far, has been taking the edge off hunger with a cuppa!

I'v also stopped all alcohol for January, and possibly beyond, and I'm sure that'll help too.
SianS what a good idea. I really enjoy those and I Find them quite filling. Will have to get some of those in ready for my next fast. :like:
I had a really good fast day! I had a higher protein breakfast than I usually do and I had a cup of green tea at work. I felt great all day and not even starving when I got home. Normally, I feel like I need more after dinner, but I am feeling ok right now too. I will have a cup of tea soon, but that should be plenty!!
cblasz wrote: Jen - maintaining is the hard part for everyone. It's not as exciting as trying to reach a goal and it's FOREVER! But, I feel it will be easier with 5:2. I think fasting once a week will be easy! (we'll see when I get there though!)
!

Thanks!! It's fascinating the psychology of losing and marinating weight! but you're so right and that what I'm planning to do, once I reach my new target I will modify to fasting once a week to see how i get along in maintenance
