Good morning all fasters, i am considering making today my last day of this way of eating. This is my 7th week and all that is happening is the same 4lbs keep coming and going. After my 2nd fast day each week I am the 4lb down by Monday morning when i start again the same 4lbs are back on.
I can only assume this type of diet isnt working for me, i have tried very hard, even enjoy it at times but its a bit useless if it isnt working for me.

Slimming world really worked well for me a few years ago, i may try going back on that and maybe still have one fast day a week to keep the calories down see what happens then.

If anyone has any tips I would appreciate it but I can say hand on heart I have stuck to this perfectly, never gone over the 500 calories on my fast days, i am a dedicated measurer of food so I am feeling very disheartended today
Sorry this WOL us disappointing to you @Susan8 You say you're bringing each fastday in at 500cals that's absolutely brilliant well done and your body is gaining endless health benefits by doing so, you measure and weigh and I'm assuming you're not going over your TDEE on your feed days.
The only other advice I can offer is to carry on for another month and do reduced carbs on all days say 100 grams on feedays, that kickstarted me when I got stuck once before, plus earlier this year I joined Debs on a very low carb x 3 days concececative at 20grams this was suggested for her by carorees so I joined in
Worked for me unfortunately not for Debs, worth a try. :clover:
HAPPY EVERYTHING @Sallyo, sounds like a wonderful celebration. Congratulations on your son's wedding @Isis, nothing like a family bash. @Susan8, sorry you're feeling frustrated, but stick with it a bit longer. Try SueQ's suggestions & also remember this WOL has many other benefits besides weight loss. Perhaps your body is repairing on the inside before the fat loss begins. There are many great articles in the 5:2 lab section of the forum & there is a "why am I not losing weight" discussion somewhere that I read every day for a month during a tough spot a while back. Good luck.

I'm in today & plan nothing until dinner when I am having a salad with some leftover pork loin & quinoa and a homemade coconut yogurt for dessert.
Hello this is my first proper fast for 6 weeks. ( I've been doing 16:8 while the kids were off) I have had so far though some pickled onions and a small piece of cheese. Tonight for dinner I am not sure might be egg salad or possibly gnocchi.
Congratulations@sallyo on 20:30:40! But so sorry we missed yr birthday on here!belated greetings x x
@isis glad all went well for the wedding...did you feel fab in yr outfit?
@Debs well done :like: and @wildmissushope that wind has " untrapped"itself now..good luck@Brand-iewith first fast for six weeks :clover:
@susan8 i really feel for you..i struggled for five weeks with one measly pound off and on,then i got results, but eight weeks is soul destroying...have you measured yourself/ do yr clothes feel looser? Sometimes it doesnt register on the scales for a while, but the tape measure is kinder...you have done so well on yr fast days - are you being fairly careful on yr feed days too? I hope you can resolve this and continue, coz it sounds like you find fasting very do- able x
@julianna thats some great fatburning on yr fast day!
Good luck@Sassy1 and everybody x!
As for me,had a good avvo after a tussle at the shops this morning but came back emptyhanded apart from my medication! X scrambled eggs is always a great post fast meal for me :like: followed by that fab next day feeling of being lighter and rested.
Hello @Susan8, I've been 4:3 since 2011. I've never lost weight in a linear, predictable fashion but have tended to plateau for up to 16 weeks at a time before dropping every day for up to 10 days and then finding another plateau (I tended to lose and regain the same 2-3lbs).

It is a horrible, demoralising experience to know that you're doing everything correctly but see absolutely no results for your efforts from the weighing scale, tape measure, or biomarkers such as blood pressure.

It's so difficult to know if you have underlying changes and benefits that don't manifest for some time. I don't know if you're peri menopausal or have other hormonal fluctuations that have a nasty habit of concealing changes.

I've absolutely no advice for you (the veterans here might have some) but you have all my empathy. I hope that you find a way that suits you and your lifestyle.
Hope all goes well for you @Susan8, check out the "why am I not losing weight?" Thread. And did you measure yourself?
Time for tuna salad and some FF yoghurt before my evening paddle - there won't be many more evenings when this is practical so I'm making the most of it while I can. It's a beautiful warm evening and there should be a delightful sunset on calm waters.

:clover: to everyone else who is finishing out a fast day or still has quite some way to go.
Happy ! Happy! Happy! SallyO =)
Fasting with you all today. Totally agree that Fasting on Monday feels better after the weekend (too much wine and cheese for this girl) Back on track today and feeling confident!
Have a great day everyone xo
Hello all
A belated post to say I've been fasting today with you all. Ate some galia melon at about 12.30pm whilst driving back from a weekend away....and have now just finished scoffing (in a very measured and mindful fashion you understand!) 303 calories worth of beetroot, parsnip & horseradish soup....courtesy of Mr Waitrose! It was truly scrummy too!

Feel very pleased to have got the first fast of the week done & out of the way! I can say that, even though it is only 7pm, because I know I won't weaken on a fast day. So wish I could say the same about the other days though - a totally different story!!!

@Susan8 I am very sorry to hear of your lack of results after 8 weeks. I have no explanations for you because I am no expert, but I do totally sympathise as it must be incredibly frustrating. Personally, I bless the day that I started fasting, as it has worked really well for me, but then, I had shed loads to lose (and then some!) Not knowing anything about you, it is difficult to assess, but if you wanted to share some details such as what your current BMI is (nothing too personal if you don't want to, but we are an extremely helpful & supportive bunch on here and would always want to assist if we possibly could) then perhaps some of the experts on here could shed some light on things for you....

Whatever you decide, I would like to wish you the best of luck for the future :clover:

@Hazelnut20 - I love beetroot and horseradish toooo. Scrummy yummy. I tend to eat quite similar dishes on fast and non fast days ....... but I do certainly treat myself on non fast days but there is a regular diet that weaves through my week and keeps me together! At some point I'll eloquently post so people can understand. It's been a winner for me and I will share. See you Thurs if not before, :clover: :like:

Oh it's 7.30pm - yippee, dinner time. Good fast to our friends out west. :clover:
I always find you most eloquent @lizbean and very supportive too!

Was wondering where you'd got to @Hazelnut20 getting a little concerned about a few people who've gone very quiet and maybe struggling trying to go it alone when were all here to support and offer help, glad your fastday went well Hazel
Now where's our nursy / @nursebean & @Karenm let's bring both if them back into the fold. :clover:  :clover:
