Thanks @sue.q - you always talk such sense! It is great to have your perspective on things - because I often can't see the wood for the trees......it's so helpful :heart:

Yes, but peckish this morning and have had a banana. Just trying to hold out until lunch 5 hours away!!
Glad to see you are battling on successfully Sue.Q and have found a way that works. I am still looking and have commenced calorie counting which I didn't want to do, but it is the only way that I am going to keep myself accountable and not overeating. It isn't easy but I shall have to do it for the foreseeable future until I get to my weight goal. At least I have realised how much I have been overeating on non fast days.
Almost done for the day! Was on the run with the kids and didn't do a good job dinner planning, so I had a single piece of pizza (350 calories), an apple (70), a few mini cucumbers (20-ish) and some coconut milk cream in my coffee (40). Oh well--- 500 is 500, right?

The hardest part of this whole thing is cooking one meal for my family and then eating a separate, low-cal meal for myself. I usually try to do something simple like meat and vegetables that they'll eat as well and simply limit my own portions, but it doesn't always work when I prepare the meal with higher-calorie ingredients like coconut and olive oil.

Tomorrow I'm going to make a delicious caloric enchilada slow cooker casserole-- thank goodness my first fast day is down! =)
Congrats @ewoodwor on completing your first fast. :) so what if it was pizza, at least you kept to the 500 cals :D

I want to eat at your house! The casserole sounds great, and cooking with coconut oil implies yummy food... Very plain fare at our house so fast days not really an issue - we have "steamed veggies and..." almost every night, cos that's the only way elder son
will eat veggies... So I will have some plain fish or chicken and the guys will have the same or some other form of higher cal protein. (Tho, like Debs, I will see if I can do liquid fasts - for at least some of the time.)

Best wishes as you continue your journey with this way of eating. :)
Well done@Sassy1 and @Debs with liquid fasts x
@loulou51 hope youre ok today
I' m enjoying that post fast fab feeling..not hungry at all and the cake isnt even shouting to me from the fridge yet
@peebles oh thats disappointing for you ! Make up for it with something tasty today x
Sit down later with a nice cuppa @candicemarie and enjoy that cake. I always think things are enjoyed so much more if I've managed to wait. Enjoy m'dear and polish that halo of yours, well done for waiting :like: :angel:
ThanksDee@justdeei' m very pleased its waiting for me in the fridge! X yummers :razz:
Interestingly, the kind of disgusting dinner I ended up making myself made it quite easy not to want to eat for the rest of the evening. (It was a curry made with chicken, too much greek yogurt, and some bagged broccoli slaw that for some reason was full of what tasted like sticks.)

Not anything I want to repeat, but it did make me think that the big plus on fast days is just plain not hunting for delicious food, which I tend to do much of the rest of the week.
@peeblesYes fast days ARE quite restful in that way aren't they and strangely addictive in a sorta " love to hate you" way.. They're restful on the tum AND the brain! X
