Morning Tuesday fasters. I have been fasting Tuesday and Thursdays since August and it is as normal as breathing. I drink only water until lunchtime then have a large black coffee at about 2pm and a white coffee at 4pm. Dinner tonight.....stovies with Sundays left over roast beef. Cannae wait. Enjoy your fast day.

Hiya, usually Mondays and Thursdays for me but it was my other half's birthday yesterday so a no go.

Also haven't fasted for over a week due to illness and being away so it will be great to start again.

I have a stinking cold at the moment so really hoping my willpower is going to hold out but if not, tomorrow is another day :)

Hi Fellow Fasters
It's a fast day for me also.
Coffee and water get me through the day and then I'll have dinner when I get home at about 6. I always find Tuesday's my easiest day as I've a full day in work and once busy it's easy to distract yourself from the occasional pangs.
Dinner tonight is the cheats option. M&S Fuller range for 340 cals,
I normally prepare my weeks fasting dinners on Monday as I'm usually at home. But yesterday had one of those crazy days and barely had time to make family's dinner.

I'm hoping that this week I will see a weight loss as last week my weight stayed the same. But I'm also mindful that I had 5 days of no restriction and 1 Chineese meal out,in the past that would have meant a weight gain.

Also not forgetting how fantastic I feel with this WOL. Day after fasting I really feel on a high. So this is another major motivation factor for me. Husband says I'm like a spring and I don't want to lose this feeling. So weight loss or not this week, I'll keep at it :D

For me its the fist fast day following three weeks away on holiday and eating lots.
Thankfully we also had lots of exercise but I've put on 4.5lbs which have to go. I think today is going to be really hard after the amount we have been eating.

Good luck to everyone else who is fasting today.

Oooof
struggling a bit- a wee bit light headed and rather drowsy. I've been for a swim, made bread, done the messages and done a mountain of ironing while catching up on my Spanish.
Now to make the dinner for the 2 non fasters- chicken and apricot curry, mushrooms and fennel and cucumber raita and spiced onions. I'm for Aubergine and lentil curry.
And I'm soooo hungry and have a headache yugh.
I always find fasting with just one day in between hard going. Having 2 stupid days work wise so don't think fasting is a good option else I would leave it til tomorrow.
Ach well, not long to go and it'll be tea time and then I can go to bed!
Hope everyone else is faring a bit better
:)

It was mentioned about having a cold today earlier in the thread. A lot of people in the office have got colds etc. including myself.
Maybe in one way its easier to fast with a cold (appetite less?), but in another more difficult (as in another thing to contend with during the day)
I'm trying to remember the saying, is it feed a flu and starve a cold or the other way round?
Well whatever it is, I'll remember my boiled egg, toast & tea with milk this morning and can enjoy my can of diet coke for lunch for now.
I can look forward to something a little more substantial this evening
I wish everybody well with their fast today, especially if they've got a cold.

week3 and this is my first post, and writing it as I'm encouraged reading everyone else's posts; only seemed fair to say I'm with you too!
Hardest bit is cooking tea for the whole family (6of us) then making packed lunches in the eve without nibbling. Might get OH to do lunches for moral support...
Got bargainous salmon (new Morrisons opened down the road) for tea, lots of veg to go with.

I'm fasting today after realising I forgot to do it yesterday.
But it does feel like a Monday as my DS has just gone back to school after half term, I found it hard going fasting last week him being around and constantly eating or asking for food.

So back to it this week wk 6 for me and I have found today easy as I haven't eaten today yet and not starving either, but I will go back to Monday Thursday fasts as I too find just one eating day between fasts harder.

Nearly there keep going, dinner not far away!

Fast day for me today. I don't think I've ever done the same two days.
I move them around to fit in with my social life.
Felt hungry today, but don't think I ate enough yesterday which was a feed day.
The trouble was that I ended up having pizza for lunch which had real thick cheese on it, and wasn't hungry in the evening.
I did have a cadburys cream egg, but still don't think I hit my 1600 calories.
I won't make that mistake again as today's the first fast day I've felt really hungry.
Not long to go now.....thank goodness.
Good luck to everyone else today.

Hi garnet, welcome back to the fasting fold! How did you get on? Today was my first fast after 5 days of eating extremely well so I was expecting it to be tough. Instead it had been really easy. I suspect my glycogen stores were thoroughly topped up and I probably haven't had to burn any fat at all! It will be interesting to see what the next fast is like!

I couldn't resist it - jumped on the scales for an unofficial weigh in and I've lost 5lbs in 5 days! I'm weighing after a fast day so I'm weighing light but I'm still absolutely thrilled. The fact this diet works is a dream come true for me. I was quite sceptical at first but now I'm well and truly won over. Hurrah!

Thank goodness it is nearly supper time. I have found it uncomfortable fasting today probably affected by my mood which has been low because of the grey overcast day. I also had to go back to my dentist to get something on my X-ray checked, but thank heavens all is OK . I am going on holiday to Egypt next week so I didn't want to have any long dental treatment. Some good news for me is that my OH will be able to join in with 5:2 when we get back from our holiday. He is a type 2 diabetic & fortunately his diabetic nurse knows all about 5:2 & suggested blood tests for a baseline reading before he gets started.
For supper we will be eating smoked salmon & scrambled eggs with a small slice of Irish Wheaten bread for me. I am trying to keep to my reduced fast calories of 440 that isn1/4 of my TDEE.
I hope all fellow fasters are doing well. :)

Just finished supper...quorn fillet fajitas.....had lots of peppers, and salad with it, and a wrap...still have enough cals left for my hot choc, if needed later.

Found today easy enough, although the pancakes that the kids had after school were mighty tempting....but resisted....next fast Thurs or Friday....
