Fasting today - 26 February
26 Feb 2013, 01:05
Hi all, well it's my third fast today. My second one wasn't entirely successful as I got up in the middle of the night and started troughing the food down before remembering I was supposed to be fasting. 'Sleep-eating' is a real problem for me - I get out of bed half asleep and head for the fridge - not good. Usually I only remember what I ate the next morning by seeing the evidence in the kitchen. Hoping for some improvement in this by eating a bit more in the evening on non fasting days so I don't wake up hungry. Perhaps it'll help me get out of the habit...

Good luck to all those fasting today!

Oh God I'm really struggling today. I slept 6-11pm and have been up since then and I am ravenously hungry now. My breakfast is not till 7am at the earliest and the pain is so intense I'm not sure I'll cope. I HATE feeling hungry!

I'm joining you today Esmarelda. Hope you managed to hold out, but if not there is always another day. Don't be hard on yourself. It's early days for you as a faster and takes a wee while to find out what suits you and the best way for you to fast.
Fingers crossed you get through it
I'm off for a swim, then lots of fluid to keep me going until tea time.

Hi Tuesday Fasters
This is my 7th Fast day and I'm looking forward to it. I do wish I hadn't woken up so early though!
Fruit tea for me through to Lunchtime when I have some spicy Tomato and veg soup, in which I'm planning to try some of the Slim Rice I bought yesterday in Holland and Barrett. Quite interested to see try it for myself.
For Dinner I'm planning a stir fry for me and my husband, not quite sure what that's going to consist of apart from some left over roast beef and a lot of vegetables.
I only lost 1/2 pound last week (although that is better than gaining 1/2 pound) I'll try a sneaking weigh in today, I got into a pair of size 14 jeans yesterday, so something has changed.

Well done Sian - the jeans are telling you it's working!

I'm on fast day today, so just black tea; black coffee; possibly a sugar free coke (one at lunchtime, although I do know that not everyone agrees with them), and a cup of hot bovril for lunch.

Have a horrid meeting after work (booooo), then mad dash for aerobics class.

When I finally get home, dinner will be turkey and crunchy Chinese veg spicy stir fry. I had intended to get the noodles to try today but forgot to go in Holland & Barrett on Saturday (after walking all the way to town specifically for that reason - doh, so no zero noodles for me.

Bedtime drink will be dark choc options drink, and then an early night.

Talk about planning eh! (Plus I already have Wed non-fast but healthy dinner cooked and ready to warm and serve in the oven, AND Thursday's fast food in there as well. Have learn from past fast weeks, it's SO much easier when you're organised).

Anyway - have a great fast day everyone xx

Im fasting today too. Was supposed to be doing it yesterday but a friend came round with a big bag of popcorn for the kids and i totally forgot i was fasting and dived into the popcorn. I still ate less then i normally do though and im starting my fast again today. Know idea what im making for dinner but iv got salad in the fridge to go with it. Think i need to go to the supermarket, the cupboards are bare. Might have a look at some recipes online to get some inspiration for the dinner.
It's 8am here and im having a cup of tea. Made boiled eggs and toast for the kids. It takes will power to make food for everyone else but not eat it yourself, and i have to sit and feed the kids too. But will power on 2 days a week is certainly easier than every day :) It's manageable, especially knowing if you mess up a fast day you can just start again the next day, no pressure. It's flexible, which makes it manageable, as long as you get your 2 days in somewhere the weight will go down in the long run.

Good luck everyone! :)

9th Fast today.

Going to try same as Sunday again, and go for just liquid today, given when I eat I then feel hungry, it kept the hunger at bay at bed time better last time by just sticking to soda water with lemon slice for "Tea"

It's the reverse side of the coin of having Bacon, Egg and Mushroom Sandwich for breakfast yesterday, followed by Chilli & Chips for Tea!

I am only doing 2 fast days this week, as OH is not working on Sunday, so I bought a Shoulder of Pork to Roast on Sunday! If I can loose 1lb this week I will be happy bunny.

Fast number 8 today after a bad nights sleep due to hip pain, could not find a comfortable position to lie in. Not too painful now I am up,which is just as well because I don't want to take painkillers on an empty stomach... One meal today at teatime with 6:1 wife but I get maybe 800 cals due to already being below original target weight, wanting to slow down the rate of weight loss until I find what weight I really need to be!

Good luck everyone...

Fasting today...the first since last Wednesday because I've been away on an eating craft and activities weekend which started on Thursday and then yesterday meet up with an old friend for lunch. So today will be a bit of a shock for my body after so long! Am hoping that 2 fasts this week will undo the damage of 5 feast days in row!

Had two cups of redbush tea then I'm going to the hairdresser where I'll have some black coffee, then nip into the supermarket to get some fish for tea. DS doesn't have any after school activity so we'll be able to eat fairly early, hurrah!

Thankyou Jane, had a small tuna salad for brekkie and feeling a lot better now. Also I weighed myself and was pleasantly surprised by the number so that's given me a bit of extra motivation. Hope you enjoy the swim!

I'm also joining you all fasting today. I usually fast on Monday but had my beading group around yesterday with cream cakes at tea time so altogether a rather OTT day calorie wise. So black coffee & water for me whilst doing lots of ironing but I am not looking forward to going to the dentist this afternoon & then studying. I will eat this evening & we will be having smoked salmon & scrambled egg.
Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning everyone, lots of people seem to be fasting today when it isn't their usual day. My Monday and Thursday this week both involve work lunches so fasting today and Friday.

Black coffee and water until tonight when I am planning on making minestrone soup from the Hairy Dieters book - looks lovely and as everything else I have made from the book has been delicious I have high hopes!

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all
Well done Esmeralda on holding out and having turned your mood round for the rest of the day.

Like Carorees, I'm fasting today after a weekend with friends staying and plenty to eat (and drink) so I am looking forward to a day of resting my digestive system.

After the success of me trying to not eat all day on Thursday until dinner time I am going for that plan again today. Nothing but various herbal/fruit teas until some sort of omelette tonight.

Good luck everyone, have a good day and enjoy.

Amanda
