Hi All,
Fast day for me also today, my 10th.
Just like somebody else said, it's all starting to feel pretty normal and part of my routine.
Also one less lunch to organise when I trying to get kids to school and me to work.

Weigh in tomorrow, so hope the scales are kind :)

Three almonds for breakfast (emptied the container), two mugs of black coffee and a mug of marigold bouillon (1 teaspoon) so far.

Nice day outside but I'll be locked away in a secure environment for the afternoon, well away from food.

My second day today...last Tuesday I was able to control myself for 220 cal/day, hopefully today goes like my first day... 11:30 AM and so far so good..not feeling hungry :)

yesterday had stomach-full of chicken curry and later was feeling guilty about it...So did Yoga and lots of heavy swimming and burned around 850 cals and felt much better.

Lets hope for the best for today.

Esmeralda, I have the other half of a packet that I started on Tuesday, going to put it in my soup again. I rinced then boiled it then rinced it again before heating in the soup. Much less objectionable than I expected from other comments.Good luck

On second fast day today and am feeling much hungrier than I did on Tuesday despite having the same breakfast--porridge with blueberries. And there are homemade cakes in the office!!! Why today?! It is a lovely day here though so I'll take a walk at lunchtime and leave my purse behind so I'm not tempted to buy anything. Does anyone else get headaches on fast days?

Smoked haddock, poached egg and steamed chard for dinner tonight, it will be most welcome. :)

Thanks Sian - I just had half a pack with a load of sitir fry veg, soy sauce and tabasco. I was actually quite impressed - it took on the flavours of the soy and tabasco and was tasty. It really bulked out my meal too so I had a really good plateful for 135 kcals. Yummy!

I'm also confused about (skimmed) milk in tea. Why should it matter so long as you stay within the 500 cal limit? This is my 4th day - I need a cup of tea with some milk!

Really didn't feel like fasting today, as I have one or two problems at home, both real and potential. (Really needed some comfort food!)However, when I got dressed this morning and saw how much looser my clothes are now, I realised I can't possibly give up now. I do think I will give up using those weighing machines in B***s though; it is now telling me that my body fat percentage is higher now than before I started, despite the fact that I've lost at least half a stone since I first started using it, and I've lost several inches from my waist, hips, etc. Oh well, onwards and upwards and good luck to everyone who's fasting today! :)

Albertina I think as long as you count it in your 500 cals it doesn't matter

I think it gets a bit confusing because there are actually two separate processes going on. The main thing is the 500 cal limit within what usually adds up to about a 36 hour span, with the two sleeps. So clearly if the milk is counted within that, all is fine.

But on top of that, there's apparently some benefit to be had from going as many hours as possible without food, so if one does hang on until late in the day, for example, that could be a 24 hour true fast within that longer time period.

So then, the question is how many calories does it take to break that fasting response. It may be that 20 cal here and there doesn't matter.... I don't know, but I'm not doing without my milk in tea!

Well I'm hanging on in there, although I must admit I am very hungry at the moment. The last time I ate was 9pm last night. I've had two ginger and lime teas and I've just had a black coffee. I have a very gurgly tummy - lol! Sooo looking forward to my dinner tonight, Quorn Lasagne and a whopping great salad!

May the force be with you one and all :)

I'm fasting today, this is my 6th fast. Fast days don't seem to be bothering me - YET. I took my daughter to a party today, cake, sandwiches, crisps and nibbles on the go but I was happy with a green tea. I had a cuppa soup and a plum at 2.30pm then ill have a dinner with the family tonight.

I love going to bed knowing I've done another day. Hopefully it'll show on the scales this week.

7th Fast and I'm going for the total not eating until I get home from work and it hasn't been any worse than a having a small salad at lunch like I normally do for about 200 cals- have filled up on sugar free squash, black coffee, and hot water with chicken bovril -the only spanner in the works was at my last visit to the drinks machine for a coffee when I noticed that the vending machine next to the drinks now has a slot filled with mini cream eggs.... now that is torture! Wish it was tomorrrow
