Fasting today- 1st march
01 Mar 2013, 06:59
So this week i'v not been doing too well. 2 'failed' fast days so far. I keep waking up intending to fast and then end up eating over the 500 calories, wither by mistake by forgetting im fasting or just from temptation and a break in my will power. Anyhow, i still ended up eating less over all on my failed fast days than i usually do, around 1000 calories, so at least that's better than pigging out.
I have a real binging problem and can really over consume some days. I'm still breastfeeding my 20 month old son which im sure is the only reason for me loosing any weight. Luckily most of the weight is gone and i'v started fasting just to shift the last few stubborn pounds. Actually im back to my pre-pregnancy weight but my stomach is still like wrinkly jelly and i could do with loosing more.

So after another failed day yesterday iim determined not to fail today!
I'm going to get the baby ready and take him out for a walk to get out of the house and away from the temptation of the kitchen.

Wish me luck, and good luck everyone else fasting today! :D

Hi Demi, if you've had two days of 1000 cals you really need to eat normally for a day or two before trying again. The more low calorie days you do in succession the harder it will be to fast I suspect! Then the more likely you are to fail and get downhearted. 2 days @ 1000 is still a good calorie cut.

Thank you Caroline,
Yes i was thinking that myself, it's just making it more frustrating because i keep failing. I just want to get through today then not worry about another fast till next week.

My fifth fast today. I also fasted yesterday so I expect this one is going to be a challenge. I need to get an extra one in though - currently doing 4:3 and it's working well so far. I've only got another 6.5lbs to lose then I'm going to 6:1 to maintain I think if that works for me, 5:2 if not. The only downside for me is that I'm eating way too much on a feed day. Gotta be more abstemious tomorrow I think. Good luck to everyone else fasting today!

I eat too much on feed days too. I was at nearly 4000 calories one day this week!!!! I had Baklava and zelnik (cheese pastry thing, very calorific) that day which is why it was so much. But even so, iv managed maintain my weight this week instead of putting weight on so at least that's a good thing :)

Hi, I am joining you fasting today (had a change of days this week).

Working from home today so had a lie in which helps keep the day shorter!

Going to stick to black coffee, fruit tea and water until dinner tonight which will be fish and veg probably!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Friday is not an ideal fast day for me, but due to unforeseen circumstances, ie I have been forced to eat buffets and evening meals through work commitments(tough eh?) my only 2nd free day is Friday.. Whats annoying is that excessive eating in the days this week has lead to what was a normally very disciplined approach to eating well on feed days has this week lead to me indulging recklessly in the evenings as well I've been eating nay gorging on snacks (crisps, houmous, sweets etc etc).. Lets just say I'm in no hurry to have a sneak peak at the scales before my 'official' weigh in on Monday morning..

The only saving grace about today is that at least I will benefit from a clear (non-hungover) head on a Saturday monring.. An unusual treat for me!

I'm fasting today instead of yesterday as had a working lunch. This is my second fast of the week, 12th altogether since Jan 21. All going well.

Strangely, yesterday evening I actually felt as though I was looking forward to fasting today having had three days in a row eating normally - I actually wanted to eat less! ;)

I'll join the official Forum weigh in tomorrow morning.

Stay focused everyone; this does work and I for one suffer with less anxiety, less guilt, less hassle and enjoying the less food that I do eat resulting in less Ibs! That's not English I know !!

Hi I'm also fasting today, so will wait till Sunday to weigh myself for a more accurate reading for the March big weigh in.

Had my 1st chocolate donut in months yesterday & do you know what I really didn't enjoy it! :o Would quite happily have binned it if the girl who bought it hadn't been sitting beside me, how should I have got rid without seeming rude? No one knows I'm doing 5:2 yet.

I'm not alone then - I gave up counting the calories on my last feed day once I hit 3000! But I guess by the end of the day it was about 4000 lol. I'm definitley going to be more sensible tomorrow though. Good luck today Demi.

I am also fasting today & this is my usual fast day before the weekend. This is my second fast after fasting on Tuesday & I think it is my 9th today. I have been disappointed with my weight loss which is very slow but I weighed myself this morning & I have lost 3lbs which I am thrilled with. So weighing tomorrow on the first forum weigh in I will have lost some weight :D
I am having a black coffee now then lots of water, Bovril for lunch a coffee with milk mid-afternoon & supper of chicken & lots of vegetables stir-fry.
Have a good day everyone fasting today :D

I have planned for my 2nd fast today for the big weigh in tomorrow.
I made the hairy bikers cottage pie recipe last night. We had it last night and have enough left over for tonight.
This morning our good friends phoned to say they would like to pop in around tea time tonight if that's ok.
We haven't had them for dinner this year, and we've been to theirs at least four times.
I have a weight watchers lasagne recipe, so I think I'll cook that and then we'll all be eating the same. The garlic bread might be the only temptation!
Good luck everyone fasting today.

Good morning fasters

I'm doing another fast day today because on Wednesday my willpower let me down, then yesterday I ate rubbish all day long! It seems I'm not alone though from reading the other posts on here. It really helps to hear from others who are facing the same challenges.
Keep up the good work everyone.

I'm trying a bit of a variation today, I've had breakfast for the first time on a fast day - just one small can of tuna (in spring water) with the juice of a lemon and a little salt to make a "fake ceviche". Just 75 calories in total so still have most of my calories for a decent sized dinner, and have made sure my body has continued protein to work with.
