Back to fasting after 11 days of far too much eating and drinking. :frown:
Refusing to stand on the scales until next Monday in the hope I can undo some of the damage done last week.
Stomach very rumbly and it's only 11.30. Lots of water and black tea to stave of the pangs methinks! Roll on dinner time. :starving:
Good luck everyone.
Doing consecutive fasting days this week. Successfully fasted yesterday and back on it today. So far so good. Good luck all you Tuesday fasters!

Wow back-to-back fasting! How are you finding it?
After the Easter break I'm fasting again, as we had so much going on hubby and I thought it would be better to just start fresh today.

Broke my fast at 10:30 with a 100 calorie rice pudding and now cuppa soup for lunch. Before the rice pudding I was doing fine, now I'm really hungry, but it's cuppa soup time, and tea tonight it roasted red pepper soup.
11th one today. I gave it a miss completely last week as I felt I wasn't in the right frame of mind to fast successfully but feel good today. Dinner will be red pepper and Wensleydale soup from Asda (I think!).
Well, it's 14.10 and I haven't eaten anything since 6pm last night, and I, surprisingly - well to me, probably not to you more hardened fasters ;-) - don't feel as bad as I thought I would. My tummy is rumbling occasionally, but I just down a large glass of water and it subsides. I really think I am going to be able to do this
I'm in today too: Week 4, fast 1. Nothing but water and black coffee since about 8:30pm last night. Bit of a rumbling stomach right now, but I know that'll go away again in a while.

Thought it might be a tough one today as I had a working dinner last night which involved rich food and a couple of glasses of red wine... but I don't feel noticeably more hungry/ lower energy than on any other fast day. (I also hit the gym before work this morning for a short but intense interval running session on the treadmill).

Really hoping for some loss this week, I weigh in tomorrow morning, having stayed the same last week (unsurprisingly, after the Easter long weekend!)
I'm in today, fast 1 of week 11. Had a bit of a blip last week when my weight plateu-ed and my waist went up half an inch - admittedly due to large amounts of chocolate cake and some chocolate over Easter.
Still, onward & upward. That's the beauty of 5:2!
Nothing to eat so far today, two cups of coffee and fizzy water spritzed with lime.
Looking foward to dinner: spicy lentil & tomato soup and a feta nicoise salad - Yum!
Oh, and a walk this afternoon.
This is my first fasting day. I'm doing the diet plan with my hubby. So far we've had porridge with berries and an oxo drink. Now we're trying to keep busy until teatime. Drinking loads of water so loads of trips to the loo. Gotta get that exercise somehow lol.
We're sharing a tin of beans for on toast later :D
However I wanted to ask...what if we are hungry later on? Will Oxo do the trick?? Won't be able to sleep with a rumbly tummy :?:
Hi all. I'm also fasting today making the kids lunch was hard. But my cup of tea went down a treat. Really looking forward to dinner this eve. Thought I was gonna weaken. I did yesterday. Aromas got the better of me. I feel more prepared today tho.
Hello rosieZgirl
Welcome to 5:2! Have a look at the FAQs. I think I've seen a drink of milk recommended or something like the Oxo you mention. I like Miso soup myself, it's about 25kcal for a mugful and is nicely savoury.
Best of luck, it gets easier.
Almost 3pm and nothing to eat since last night at 8.45pm.. feeling okay. Had a really hard hour at around 12pm, when I usually eat my lunch.

As I am still new (only fast 3)... I keep seeing people talking about going to the toilet more due to the water- I am drinking water but not going to the toilet much- am I drinking enough? How much do we need to be drinking?

Today I have been tidying my food cupboards and chucking away all the old stuff and reorganising everything. I have found SO many kinds of tea at the back of one of them that I'd forgotten about. Just enjoying a cup of Twinings Rose Garden Tea now - really delicious and smells lovely. Mmmmmm.

How do I know if my body goes into starvation mode? I appreciate I may feel colder and tired. I have a heart rate AP and my pulse has slowed while fasting. Is that something anybody else has experience?
I had a negative experience with my first fast day where I almost fainted, went white and trembly and had to eat. I think it is all about working out what routine your body works best with. The body is designed to be able to cope with going into the occasional 'famine' mode. MAybe some gentle exercise to raise your pulse?
