No fast last week, but back on track today, and once kids in bed, heading off myself....Easter hols are tough, but refusing to give into the chocolate....
I have found today harder, probably because I do not seem to have lost a blummin thing at all for the whole 3 and a half weeks I have been doing this. On the other 6 fast days, I have been fairly unbothered by hunger or feeling weak, or headaches. My boyfriend is starting to hypothesise that I won't lose weight while I don't feel particularly hungry. Hmmmmm

I have a regimented plan for the fast days to make it easier to buy things in and avoid worrying about miscalculating calorie counts. I have a small sachet of porridge with half fat milk for breakfast (about 224 cals), a pear at around lunchtime (max. 54 calories) and vegetable soup for dinner (about 206 cals according to the tub).

I have switched to sweetener in my tea, and the original diet plan target does not seem to be far off at 500 cals for my TDEE. I do not go overboard on my normal days, probably not busting my TDEE (I try not to count too obviously around my other half at weekends, where lunch is usually actually skipped, or is a late breakfast).

However, over the years I have already taken several steps toward healthy eating/lifestyle which have had little to no success.

I gave up coffee because I found it made me irritable, I halved the sugar in my tea, switched to half fat milk, replaced butter with olive oil spread, took up after-work exercise, started parking a 20 minute walk away from work, grow as many of my own veg as I can... I have tried to aim for 1500 cals a day in the knowledge that packet calorie values can be underestimates, to try not to overeat.

I know I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but it would be nice to see just a tiny improvement!
Esmecat, you should check out the Taking the scenic route thread. There seem to be a load of reasons why people who are doing everything to keep the calories down aren't losing weight, including eating too little!

I'm fasting today too. Have a cold and thought I'd maybe have to postpone because of it. But I'm not hungry so just going with it. One thing I notice today is a very noisy rumbly tummy. Guessing it's to do with the cold as I've not had such noisy rumblings on fast days before.

Sending good vibrations to all the fellow fastens out there today!
Today is my first proper "Fast", did do a trial last Thursday which went well and got me to grips with how to manage 500 cals and ensuring I drink plently of clear fluids.

I have planned to "Fast" on a Tuesday and a Thursday weekly with the remaining days trying to eat a healthy but not restrictive diet.

Spread my calories across lunch/dinner and have come in at just under 450, I am not hungry nor feeling any ill side effects such as headache, so fingers crossed I will survive the next few hours of the evening before bed ! do have a horrible feeling my tummy will be rumbling by then  and if that does not keep me awake running to the loo will do ... I have drunk sooooo much today !

Happy Fasting :like:

I'm fasting today too, week 5 day 1. I'm getting used to them now, find it easy whilst at work, but dread to think what I'll be like if I was at home?

I had tea and water throughout the day and miso soup at lunch time. I'm so glad I read that here, it tastes amazing and salty .. Lol.

My evening meal consisted of a veggie stirfry with chicken. It was just what the doctor ordered!

Now I'm craving some chocolate and doesn't help that we went to Cadburys World yesterday and I know we've got lots of chocolate in the cupboard. Oh dear...... Keep distracted!!
Made it! night night!
Today is my second fast and I was starving all day. I was hoping to make it until dinner without eating but I ended up eating an egg in the hopes of curbing the hunger. Dinner is finished and I am sipping tea. Just have to get through the evening and I will have made it through. Calorie count was 550 for the day. Hope the next fast day goes a little smoother.
Ive had a horrible PMS day of drama, tears and arguments yet sonehow managed to fast successfully. THAT'S dedication!

Good for you!!!

I'm about to call it a day. 465 calories. Not bad at all, I say... :sleepy:
Well done all, I was pleased with yesterday and even managed to go for a run first thing this morning. Had this for dinner last night with loads of broccoli, can't recommend it enough, delicious, easy to make and only 370 cals per portion:
