Fasting today? Tuesay 9th April
09 Apr 2013, 06:20
Another fast day, trying to maintain weight but still losing it, slowly! Good luck to everyone else fasting today...
Good Morning Creaky Pete and all Tuesday Fasters,

Fasting today and a very busy day of chores and jobs planned (so much to get through I have a list) with a couple of shopping treats to look forward to.
We have some lovely roast beef left over from last night's dinner so I will be having that with a salad tonight.

Good luck :clover:
Morning to you both, I'm also on my Tuesday fast - this is my fifth fast day and things are getting much easier. Have an hours step aerobics planned for later this morning and then I am painting a bedroom for the rest of the day, which should keep my mind off food.
My 8th fast today. I'm going to try and follow advice I've seen on here to not eat until this evening. Or at least only have a cuppa soup to keep me going if I need to.
Fasting today after a wonderful meal out last night. Still have that anxious feeling that I often have on the morning of a fast day but I know it will pass. Not sure what I'm doing today as its school holidays but no doubt I will be busy. Just had a lovely erly morning walk with the dog and I'm ready for anything now.
Good luck everyone!
Fasting today. Salmon and stir fired veg for evening meal. Lots of housework today to pass the time.
Yes I have been fasting today. I am in Australia so my day is nearly over. It is just under 2 hours until dinner time. Today I have had a long black mocha (black coffee with unsweetened dutch process cocoa) and half a vegetable stock cube made into a broth. I am aiming for a 400 cal fast day today and the end is in sight.

I remind myself that my day is nearly over. Just need to find something to distract me for the next hour or so before dinner.

Good luck to all fasters as your day is starting. You can do it!
3rd fast day for me today - lots to keep me occupied and a calorie counted meal ready in fridge for the evening. Bovril on standby - I empathise with the person who has the anxious feeling - me too - but I know I can do this - I have to do this ....Good luck everyone.
Hi All

I'm doing my very first fast day today and must admit, I'm feeling nervous about being moody (I get moody when I'm hungry and as I'm in work, so moody isn't really an option!)

Just need to make sure I drink plent of water I guess :-)
Good luck Dolly - I think you'll be fine, it's all a state of mind. You're doing this because you want to, and have made a definite decision that today you are fasting. Simples!!
I actually find it easier to not eat anything til the evening and have my mind in the place where 'food has nothing to do with me' and feel quite pleased that I haven't got to worry about what's for lunch or breakfast. That's for others to worry about.

I'm on fast today and Thursday after a long weekend (Hen) in Berlin. On Friday I'm being bridesmaid so have lots of incentive to stick to my fasts this week. Hope that it counteracts the pastries and cocktails and bread and beer that's been consumed this weekend!!

I'm sticking to black tea and coffee and sparkly water with lemon juice added today as I'm going to do the Hairy Bikers Spanish Chicken Bake (370 cals)for dinner tonight and serve it with a big leafy salad (75 - 100 cals). Yum!

Thanks Lucky7 - so far so good - and not feeling hungry (which surprises me!) I brought 100gms of chicken and some cherry tomatoes for lunch - but may see if I can go without until I get home :-)

Good luck everyone else fasting today.
I'm fasting today. It's going to be a hard un
Hi All.

This is my third fast day. The first one however where I am at work... I have found that I find it much easier to fast by skipping breakfast and lunch and not eating at all until the evening meal.

I am feeling okay so far, but it is still so early. I also want to be able to get home and work out before having dinner so I am slightly anxious knowing that I have another 8 hours without food!!!

I also am feeling guilty as on my feast day yesterday I think I overdid it. I hope this feeling of a need to overdo it on feast days slowly goes away with time?....

Re: overdoing it on feast days. I have one 'binge' day per week. I fast the day after the binge and find this fast to be very easy, almost like I'm running on the fuel from the binge.

Could you allow yourself a similar 1 binge day per week? And eat sensibly all other feast days?
Yeah this could work. I have a very tall (6ft 4 and eternally slim) boyfriend who often buys cakes and food to snack on the evening! So I could allow myself one evening to enjoy this with him rather than sitting their feeling grumpy.

Also, I went to bed very full and was looking forward to my fast day today. I know that due to my binge I won't cheat today at all.

I am having a homemade turkey burger with salad for dinner and looking forward to it. :)

Thanks for the advice.
