Hi
For my fast day menu I'm having
Milk in 2 cups of tea....14
2crispbread with low fat Philly and 1slice of wafer thin ham...131
Aynsley Thai style cous cous with half a tin of tuna....234
Options hoy choc....30
That makes my total....409.
According to my chart I should have 400 cals on a fast day, so am really pleased.
Bon appetit everyone
There's a neat plan. Happy fast day to you lornameg
That would be peti Bon appetite ... Non
Nothing during the day (a few cups of mint tea that's all), then lentil stew with chicken and halloumi cheese:

Fry 1/4 of onion and some garlic in two squirts of low cal oil spray
Add 1/2 teaspoon each(or more if you like) of ground coriander, ground cumin and turmeric (but go easy on the turmeric or it might turn out bitter).
Add 40g of red split lentils
Add chicken stock made from 1/2 stock cube
Add 1/2 tin tomatoes
Add 1/4 chopped red pepper

Cook until done. Then:
Add some chicken - I have one chicken drumstick
Add 40g of halloumi cheese.

Yum.

(calories are: 1/2 tin tom 40, stock 15, chicken 100, 1/2 pepper 25, 1/4 onion 10, 40g lentils 125, 40g halloumi cheese 132 = total 447, leaving allowances for garlic etc, herbal tea and a small tea with milk later).

I haven't worked out my TDEE (or whatever it's called) and sticking to max 500 cals as it's working for me so far.
Thanks for the recipe, just the sort of thing I love to eat.
I've already had my cup of coffee and I'll have oatmeal with vegetables for lunch. Dinner will probably be the same as lunch, with some rice cakes in between.
On my second diet Irn Bru
have had black coffee and a lochan of water
Have an avocado to use
thinking avocado, feta, beetroot and orange salad later- need to work out the calories. I'll add chook for beloved's
or i might just have my usual poached eggs- made all the more attractive as the potato and herb bread is there and I need to go and get the rest of the stuff to go with the avocado.
And it's like a furnace out there....
Fasting today. Just having a cup of tea now, then off to work. I'm hoping my day is busy, but not stressful, so I get through it without yearning for food! I will probably not eat during the day, and have some chick pea soup in the evening. If I'm feeling great, I may skip the soup and do a 36 hour liquid fast.

Lots of herbal tea during the day is my secret weapon!
Redbush tea, coffee, coffee, water, vegetable bouillon, tea, water, big pile of veggies with a couple of sausages (while the rest of the family have sausage and mash), water, water, water.
Drinks: Green tea, coffee, hot water and lemon, water!
Food: spinach, carrot, beansprouts, broccoli, courgette, tuna, chicken, kale, asparagus!
So far - tea+skim milk, water & 1/4 chicken stock cube drink
Tonight have Morrison ready meal Nume range - king prawn & noodles I think for under 300cals
Caroline, have you thought of adding veggies in the sausage and mash? I was once making my leftovers&mash dinner (I do it once a week or so) and I made a tomato sauce with green peppers, onion, sausage, leek and various herbs and it was very nice. I added some cheese on the mash and then splashed the sauce on top and the cheese melted and it was ohmiGod delicious!
Now that just sounds like my kinda food TML13.
You're making me very hungry.....
So far nothing, for dinner I'll have chicken, with leeks, tomatoes and brown rice. Then after dinner and apple.
Bellalou, one day when you won't be fasting, ask me for the Greek recipe with sausage and peppers!
Yes please or pretty please it sounds lush!
