I've heard a lot of buzz about Goldfinch, but dang-it's almost 800 pages long lol. I'm up for the challenge though, if everyone else is! Otherwise has everyone read The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, by Jonas Jonasson yet? That's another one that I've heard a lot of good about and I'm on the hold list at the library for it.

Ta SJ - we'll add that to the list - then we do a poll (vote) over a week to see which one everyone likes most. Tho people can read any of the suggestions made of course.

Oh goodness, I'd better get back on to the Luminaries, always get sidetracked by this flaming forum!
I have read the Shardlake series, they are excellent. Right, start reading, start reading!

I read The Rosie Project, but I haven't even started the Luminaries yet. But… I have a holiday coming up, so it could happen...

I'm glad you liked it, it's on my 'to read' list for March, for one of my Goodreads group's Around the World reading challenge

May I put forward these:

12 Years a Slave (just won best film & Best actor at BAFTAS) - Solomon Northup

Rainbow Man - Eric Lomax (an incredible true story)

Whilst Goldfinch sounds good...could we have a little break from huge tomes?!

I'd like Goldfinch later than March. I loved the Secret History so I have great hopes, but I need a break from big books after spending several months with the Luminaries.

I really enjoyed the 100 year old man who...

I'm reading Goldfinch now, so I vote for that! :) I got it on my kindle, so didn't realize quite how long it was, but it's moving along ok.
