I love to "talk" and would love to have a partner of similar weight to lose. I'm 48, I work FT, I home school my kids...I am a person of faith -- if any of that helps! Oh and I am in the US.

Thanks flamanette and everyone posting.

we will find someone to share your experience with I am sure. And welcome to the forum!
This sounds a great idea!

I really could do with a bit of motivation here and there as I always seem to peek and trough in this department! as I am sure I can not be alone in this it would be great to share with somebody and be able to help out in there troughs too. Haha I don't mean the food variety either lol

So I have around 3 stone to loose and am holding on to 40 by a thread which will snap come Friday :curse: I love the odd glass of wine and I keep peeking in the hit tent

So happy to buddy up
I can buddy with someone too.
I am 50 years old, I still have 90+ pounds to lose, having lost 45 already. I have been doing 5:2 for nearly a year now.

I am carer and housewife to 2 disabled members of my family (hubby and son). I am initially losing weight for very necessary surgery, but secondarily to get the weight off once and for all. MY health has already improved with lowered BP and being able to exercise again.
I have Home Educated one son (Home Schooled) here in the UK. He is Autistic so we are continuing now he is college age and working with him on life skills rather than academic qualifications.

As a sideline I also review, with my husband, electronic cigarettes, though I don't use them myself and have never smoked, hubby is the ex-smoker. I also make wooden 'things' in my shed as I do woodturning.
@nursebean and @carieoates thanks for kick starting the "buddy conversations"

I reckon this can really work for all of us.

im just waiting for my buddy @debs to finish here gourmet food and wine sabbatical in about 5 days time. hi @debs :drink:

ahhh yes .. the "wooden things" if only you can post pics. lol
thanks,@Juliana.Rivers, for another wonderful idea for a tent! But I'm a little bit shy, this is a bit like online dating, isn't it?

I would love at least 2 buddies, on the principle that one may be unavailable when someone's in need, and it winds the expectation down to a doable level, I think. I'm actually interested in buddies who are willing to go deeper than the obvious answers, both intellectually and psychologically, and who are open to new ideas. That's actually more important to me than the more obvious things like age, amount of weight to lose etc

But in case you're also interested in those more everyday things, which is fair enough, I'm 56 years old, single, Pisces, into contemporary dance, cycling and gardening - the rest you can see on my Profile if you're interested.

So, roll on, the fickle finger of fate!!

ahh you want a threesome @jools7!

yes as people wrote their profiles it did remind me of online dating profiles. Hey some of us might just develop lifelong friendships in here.

3 is a good idea too.
@wendy darling and I have buddied up as we're both maintaining. I hope she has a very good aim with a wet fish x
@Julieathome would you like to buddy with me. I have a similar weight to lose to you and I have a autistic son he goes to a special school. I also craft but with wool and cross stitch.
That would be great @Brand-ie though how we go about it I haven't a clue.
I'm up for buddying with anyone in a similar situation to myself.
I'm 65, ex teacher now retired and into keeping fit and healthy by going to the gym, aqua and zumba. I'm happily maintaining my weight by sticking to 16:8 with an occasional fast thrown in when I feel the need and find this suits me fine. I'm also trying to reduce my consumption of white carbs and increase healthy fats but still struggling to overcome my previously ingrained low fat eating habits.
If this resonates with anyone, particularly if you are small and have a low TDEE please get in touch.

Very pleased to say I am joining @PennyForthemand @Wendy Darling in a ménage a trois/three in a bed/ Triumvirate...well, you get the idea!  Great to have your support and advice girls! :like: :like:
Heyy! I think this is a great idea! I'd love a buddy. My BMI is healthy but I feel like I'd be at my most confident if I lost 10 pounds or so, and also if I got control over my binge eating of naughty foods. Love me some snacks. So anyone who is free and thinks they can relate to me please be my buddy!! :) x
I'd like a buddy or 2 please. I'm approaching 40 but feel about 20, married without children but 8 cats, civil servant in education. Can't promise to always be available as I work away sometimes and don't always have t'internet. Have lots (6 stone) to lose but am sure with the support I've found here it can and will be done!
