That was a lovely weekend as the most distant quarter of the family with our youngest grandchild came to visit. Hugs and chat and laughs and play, all good happy times :0)

You know how things tend to go in threes? So far today my gold bracelet has snapped and the small cafetiere filter drops down instead waiting up top to be pushed :0(

There's a piece about Alzheimers on Healthinsightuk.org that is very interesting:-

Steps to cut your risk
The steps they mentioned included controlling blood sugar and blood pressure, taking exercise, cognitive training, social activities, and supplementing with omega 3 fatty acids and B vitamins. This statement has since been published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

A bit too chilly for too much out-doors today but a happy visit to a nearby garden centre saw more pretty plants come home with us. Also I managed to avoid all the delicious and gluten free goodies their cafe sold (well done them for GF anyway) to keep the count so far down to 45g of carbs.
Dinner and dessert to come of course...

Just enjoyed a spiffing and (mainly) sin free bbq. I enjoyed the fatty lamb ribs. Wouldn't eat them often, but they were good. Company of friends, family and poches.
What's not to like?

Do you know, only this morning Hubs and I were discussing words that have gone out of everyday use and spiffing was one of them along with chortle, gormless, smashing..any more?

Still use chortle and gormless  lovely words. Think spiffing is 20s, and smashing is 60s ...
