Ah it was a fast five hours of fun, rushing round the garden, up to the park and round everything 30 times, home to more high jinks then back to jet lagged parents. They were tiring by then but they had travelled 4000 miles this morning!

No one says " stout".. These days people are plump or overweight, even obese, but never stout.
Here is a quote from my now world famous 'Bollox du Jour' thread, remember this...............
"As I watched the folk go by it occured to me that we now call overweight people, obese, morbidly obese, or calorie challenged. My mum's mum, whom I LOVED dearly was what we would now call obese, but in her day she was known as 'stout', no one uses that word anymore. It was also used to describe shoes that one could wear out and about in Paris without crippling oneself and using up a whole years supply of plasters in one go. Remember 'stout shoes' I do, my mother made me wear them every day to school and I also had to then wear them for my ballet lessons, scarred childhood, or what? "Point your toes Ballerina".... "In these shoes?" Wasn't there a song about that? Of course the other meaning , no longer in everyday parlance, for stout was as an alcoholic beverage. No one drinks 'stout' any more, its all 'slimline' this and 'slimline' that! Pubs are just not what they used to be, "I'll have a pint o'stout lad!" ...."would that women, shoes or beer?"....

'portly' and 'bonny' also spring to mind as words we rarely use nowadays to denote sometimes size!
My fat measuring scales have ceased after the battery was replaced (stupid thing!) so this must be a good point to review and consider the future.
Not sure I want to spend more money on more scales as I've still got an old working set that just gives weight. I have a tape measure for waist so all is not lost.
I've been fasting since January 2013 and now low-carb/high-fat (50-100g carbs daily) too, my weight has stayed within the same area of 70-72kgs for months now, regardless of procedures.
I appear to be in maintenance.
I'm definitely happier with what I now eat, though if any form of sugar is eaten in a day I seem unable to stop eating until bed, a strange addiction effect usually switched off by fasting the following day.
Perhaps it's time to accept the obvious and take each day as it comes.
I want to restrict myself to only eating my own home-made gluten free, yeast free bread, vegetables/salads many and varied, one piece of fruit daily, fresh fish, organic cheese and eggs, and just one processed meal a week in the shape of a curry!
I would like to be at peace in my own body.

That sounds a very healthy plan @Azureblue which is obviously working very well for you!

Yes! And enjoy doing just that! It IS time to be at peace with yr body! Accept the odd sugar cravings..arent gonna do too much harm occasionally, specially coz the fast sorts it out.
Sounds like you've more or less cracked it,tho i understand why perhaps youre still not at ease.. I guess most of us are the same, with varying degrees of justification, and with various "addictions". For example, my Beau has no issues with food, just enjoys preparing it and eating it,but agonises over how much wine he " should" ( or shouldn't ) drink.

When I was young my Mum would say of rather rounded individuals, " what a handsome lady she is" even at a young age I hoped that I would never be called handsome, mind you I never quite had the height that was also required to be handsome.
Having just viewed yr pic in the GG tent@nessie..i can assure you you're not handsome but you ARE stunning! X
I hate peeps saying "you look well "coz i know they just mean you look fat!

Seems like people regularly refer to frocks on the forum, @PennyForthem. It always sounds to me like such a quintessentially British thing to wear. (I've found another chance to use that word, @Callyanna!)
And @Ballerina, around here lots of people drink stouts. In fact, last month was "Stout Month" and we were in a brewpub being offered a dozen varieties. We are lightweights and stuck to the IPAs.

Another month and season, another change of avatar for me :0)
Spent a pleasant four hours at Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials today.
Beautiful horses in immaculate condition thundering around a very good cross country course (4.5 minutes for them), dressage performed to perfection, show jumping done well. Zara Phillips Tindall due to perform at the weekend too.
I must have walked miles, forgot to put my pedometer on ( doh )!

I'm not really jealous, AB. Love horses, love riding them, past competitive riding, so love watching them.
Stil got all my riding gear, so might investigate a bit of gentle hacking. Oh my wordie...
