I purchased a book today 'Eat to cheat Ageing' by Ngaire Hobbins and I think it is a worthy read. It cautions people in late 60's from fasting due to muscle loss. I am keeping an open mind and having a good read due to the messages about what is an appropriate and healthy BMI when you are older and just to take on board what the author thinks is important about nutrition as it is her speciality. Also found Fat Dogs favourite author Celia Brooks new book on 5:2 vegetarian recipes. Brought that as well as she has some stunning recipes and has a way with food which I felt from her other book Low Carb Vegetarian.

Agree the tents are quiet. Nice to see this one has some visitors again.

I'd love a précis of that book Gillymary when you've finished. Sounds very interesting for us old gals :0) Our health needs are definitely different to the youngsters.

Pretty good but missing fasting and the clarity and lightness it brings.
My weight initially dropped but now I'm back at 72kgs so hey ho on we go. Last day is 14th but I've already eaten a forbidden nut or two!
How are you doing?

Another post-grandchildren Thursday, another very late start to my day!
Very pleased to see some weight loss even though I ate an enormous rice and veg dinner last night. Just goes to show Carorees is as usual completely right when she said to eat consistently (I think?) and not let your body think it's in a famine, sending it into fat storage mode.
I finally get it :0)

Hello SSS's I'm sitting here in a very hot Sussex waiting for the taxi to come in a couple of hours to take us to Gatwick for a BA flight to Malta for one week. I must admit I am looking forward to getting to the business lounge & having a sandwich & a glass or two of something nice perhaps chilled Chardonnay?
Like a good girl I have my flight socks on & I'm 16:8ing until reaching Gatwick so just coffee & water so far. I fasted yesterday & have a disappointing weight loss this week of only 12oz! But updating my stats I realised that a I am close to getting below 30 BMI so no longer obese just 3 stone overweight :lol:
The tracker predicts I won't reach my end goal weight until October 2015 with my slow on average 1/2lb weight loss per week which is depressing :frown: but I'm sure I am already much healthier now than I was in January 2013 & using my exercise bike has given my legs some muscle definition & my aerobic capacity is much improved so no problem with the hills in Valletta :grin:
The rain through the night here was torrential & I hope you are not all not too uncomfortable with this humid hot weather.

Safe journey and enjoy a fabulous holiday m'dear {{{+}}}
Thunder half woke me in the night then a deluge this morning with heavy rolling rumbles was quite exciting.
Granddaughter's birthday party this afternoon will be a much more grown up affair now she has reached the grand old age of 15! I've dressed up a bit, mustn't let the side down :0)
Oh well, the garden was very thirsty and the car needed a wash so all is well.
