Re: The 4:3 tent is up!

I have been known to do 4.3. But I do like my Friday glass of wine, so it ends up being a 4.2 and a bit. Seeing as I'm a natural 16.8er all days. So I'm in but not a permanent citizen.
I can sleep in the awning if necessary. :?:

Can I be a temporary member? I've been doing 4:3 for the last couple of weeks as I am now (hopefully) on the last straight and my weight loss has slowed a bit so for this 'push' I have 'upped' my fasting days.

I find it very easy...I'm doing 4:3 and 16:8 on my non fast days. The 16:8 just happened because I never eat breakfast and only have black coffee until lunchtime.

I'm doing Mon/Wed/Fri because I do like to enjoy my weekends!! :clover:

I don't know what to do now! I have been 4:3ing & 16:8ing for the past three weeks but I am stuck bouncing around 1/2 pound up & down  I think I was also not eating enough in between fast days that were Monday Wednesday & Friday because of 16:8ing then. I had hoped to pep my weight loss but it seems to have had the reverse effect!
Yesterday my food intake was rather OTT because we rather unfortunately bought Indian food from Sainsburys for supper & cream cakes? A sort of mad fastiversary treat. I didn't eat all the Indian food because to be frank it was rather tasteless but I suspect I was way over my TDEE. I am wondering whether to just go back to 5:2 & 16:8ing because I am more used to that routine.

Hi fellow 4:3ers,
I fast on Monday,Wednesday and Friday. I started on 4:3 to kick start the metabolism as I have under active thyroid with the intention of switching to 5:2 after 4 weeks, but found the routine doable so have stayed on it since Oct. I have lost 32 lbs so far and have moved from obese to overweight (yippee!!!). My first goal achieved. I intend to stay on this WoE for the next forseeable future until I have lost a further 40 lbs, I will then move to 5:2 and then to 6:1 for maintenance.

That sounds like a plan @arkmead congratz on the first goal. for me im still tossing up between staying on 5:2 or 6:1 for maintenance. theres a thread around here about that

I'm exactly the same @carieoates - I spend too much time looking forward to my wine after a week at work, I don't think I'd be able to give it up!

I want to join in! Please! Pick me!

Secretly, before Christmas I was doing 4.5:2.5 (is there such a thing) :dunno: and think that was the reason for my success. So right now I'm doing 5:2 but 4.2:2.5 if my busy social life allows! (I'm not really that smug!)

I'm finally at the point I was at the end of last year... looking forward to fasts, feeling better in myself, confidence is coming back. I love this WOE!! :victory:

(little ps. still no batteries in my scales so I haven't weighed myself since my 3 weeks of fasting for 2014 began. Bit nervous)

I more or less did a 4.5:2.5 last week. I ate a proper dinner on Friday after fasting the rest of the day since I had a half-marathon on Saturday afternoon. I came in at about 1000 cals (I had desert as well), so still a fairly low cal day.

I am LOVING 4:3 at the moment, so many people at work told me yesterday how "slim" I look and pointing all the areas where they are noticing it the most. It's all down to 4:3 and losing my Christmas gain. When I was doing 5:2 I would have 2 sets for 2 feed days which I felt undid some of the hard work, now I only have the weekends to worry about and even then since 4:3 I've noticed my entire eating and way of thinking has been reset and I love it. I now use food to live, not as a reward or an escape :)

Adios amigos
I' m tootling over to the window tent for a couple of weeks while my two lasses are here.
There will be much fun and eating and drinking.
I had intended fasting today (arrival day) but 2 extremely early mornings alomg with a dodgy low cal day yesterday have left me with a bouncing headache. So food required - i also need to get shredded and there is no way that could hapen without some replenishment.
Enjoy 4:3 ing and I'll be back soon !

Exactly the same here! Fridays are my DVD and treats night with my kids and I like a drink on a Saturday.
Unfortunately I was starving all day Sunday and ended up caving in and eating bread and butter with my veg soup and it went downhill from there! Didn't eat a lot yesterday due to stress and am getting peckish now so am hoping I'll be able to stick to my planned fast day today, bring on the green tea and soup!!

I am giving serious thought to switching to 4:3 because I have plateaued for these past few weeks......& am only 10 weeks in on this new WoE.

Am amazed to find that fasting days are not a problem....it's the other days that I think are my downfall, so it makes sense to me to add an extra day.

What sort of typical improvements to weightloss can I hope for? Any insight as to how it works for all you 4:3ers would be much appreciated.......

I fasted yesterday, so might as well do Mon, Wed & Fridays. No time like the present, is there??

Try it and see @Hazelnut20 because 4:3 varies a lot for different people: for some it sometimes works very well and for others it doesn't. We're all so fickle you know!
