If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

4:3 Lent Challenge

I'm new to the site and to IF in general. After procrastinating about losing weight for a year i finally got under way this January. I spent the first month eating small meals every 2 hours or so and had great results. But i recently plateaued and found myself searching for solution. I stumbled upon the 5:2 plan as well as the 4:3 Beach Diet (which recommends a 6 week period for switching from 5:2 to 4:3 to get ready for warm weather). Since the timing coincided with Lent, and I've already given up snacks and alcohol - I thought now was a great time to try it.

I invite anyone else to join the challenge with me. It should make for a great Easter feast.

I hope that you enjoy IF and that it proves to be a good fit to your life. I've been following a 4:3 pattern since 2011 and have been in maintenance for some time. There's a 4:3 thread: fastonbury-glamping-grounds-f34/the-4-3-tent-is-up-t11057.html

If you have any questions, it might be helpful to learn a little more about your health or weight change goals.

There are regular 'Fasting Today' threads where it can be useful to give and receive support. There's also a 'keeping within bounds on a non-fast day' thread that can be helpful if temptation rears its head.
