Hello - I haven't been on here for a while, but just popped on to see how everyone is doing, saw this thread and thought I'd add my tuppence worth!

After doing Weight Watchers (where I started at 13 stone 13.5 = 88.68kg with a BMI of 30.6 ), I began 5:2 on 11 March 2013 soon after my birthday. I weighed 12 stone 1lb (76.66kg) and had waist of 31.5inches with a BMI of 26.53.

By the beginning of September, I had lost 16 lb on 5:2 and weighed 10 stone 13lb (69.4kg), waist 30 inches, and a BMI of 24.01.

Also, I had my bloods done before starting 5:2 and then in July. I had great cholesterol improvement stats and put that all down to 5:2 benefits.

Since then, despite continuing with 5:2, I have been stable at my September weight and just gone up and down a pound or two during my regular weight checks. I guess my body is happy with this weight, and I am just going with the flow to see if things start to move again - or not! Whichever it is, this year has been great for my weight loss. I am so grateful to everyone on this site, and especially Moogie and Caroline - without you, I certainly wouldn't be where I am today.

My numbers
today- 61.6kg waist 76cm- managed half my height finally :D

started weight loss (calorie controlled ) in Sept 2012 after weighing myself at my birthday weekend away and was shocked. :confused: :cry:
Weight 73kg waist 101cm
started 5:2 October and by January 2013 weighed
70kg and waist was 96cm
SO I have lost 11.4 kg and 25 cm off my waist !!!!!!:shock:

and I have a saggy botty(what I heard) /sexy body ( what she said! ) according to my Phillipina colleagues) :like: :victory: :lol: :lol:
I am in maintenance so haven't provided monthly weigh in data for a while

This month my weight has gone up slightly from 65.5kg to 65.9kg. I'm not worried as I am still below target. My waist is unchanged at 73.7cm.

I started this WOE on 28 January 2013 and reached target on 4 August after 26 weeks. In that time I lost:

weight 12.6kgs
waist 15cm

I feel so happy with my weight now and I can't believe how easy it was to reach my target and to have maintained it for four months so far. This WOE and the support of this forum is amazing :grin:
I'm weighing in a day earlier than usual as I am off to a conference for 3 days this afternoon. I am fasting until this evening when I will go out for a meal with others without counting and I expect some wine will be drunk ( sort of 16:8) Next fasting dat will be Thursday when I get back.

My stats

Now weight 76kg waist 90cm %fat 33.8

4th Nov weight 77kg waist 92.5cm % fat 34.5

1st Jan weight 89.5kg waist 102.5cm %fat 41

So loss this month 1kg, 2.5 cm from waist and 0.7%fat

loss this year 13.5 kg, 12.5cm from waist and 7.2% fat

My losses are much slower that some and are slowing down a bit but I am very happy with where I am. I have reached my initial goal and have set a new one which I hope to acheive in the next year.
Hi all - love hearing about how well everyone is doing. :like:

Weight: Nov was 56.2kg and now Dec is 55.1kg (loss 1.1kg)
Weight in Jan 2013 was 79.83kg (loss Jan to Dec 24.73kg)

Waist in Nov as 80cm and in Dec is 77cm so loss of 3cm.
Body fat was 26.4% in Nov and is now 25% in Dec, loss of 1.4% points.

I wasn't measuring my waist in January but started in March when it was 89cm so I have lost 12cm since then :like: . This was one bit of my body that was most resistant to change.

How do I feel? Cautiously pleased! Three years ago I lost nearly as much weight on low carb but then gradually put it all back on due to not being able to stick to it long term for various reasons. I am now lighter than I have been for perhaps 30 years! (when I was 18) :cool: .

I feel that I have a much better chance of sticking to this way of eating because if I have a naughty day I can make up for it in the week. I feel healthier and exercise is more of a pleasure. I've bought lots of clothes too and can wear those I bought 3 years ago (but then got too big to wear them).

I've been doing 4:3 and I am maintaining by continuing with that but eating a bit more on fast days.

Thanks for all the support and to Carorees and Moogie for the site. Sorry if I have gone on a bit, but this has been a big thing for me in a not particularly good year in other ways.
Hi Caroline, thank you.

Started 1st April
66.67kg
BMI 25.1

3rd November
61.2kg
BMI 23
(Post Holiday!!)

6th December
58.5 kg
BMI 22

Target Weight
57kg - this may be subject to change!

36 weeks - 8kg lost - very slow but very easy

Very pleased. I was really nervous about not eating for a few hours before I started but easily got into the swing of it. I enjoy everything about this woe

5:2 followed, mixed in with 16:8 the other days. It suits my appetite and makes me more mindful about what I am shovelling in because if I flip that hunger switch early on I will be rummaging all day. If I wait till lunchtime I can easily wait again till dinner. Am still really enjoying it but very slow weight loss. I am still weighing daily and using the True Weight app.

no waist or fat data etc available.
Nil weight lost in the past month.
Total loss since starting is 40lbs in 41 weeks.(18kg)
I didn't start measuring my waist etc until June, so I was already 4 months into 5:2
Waist = At least 6 inches (15.24cm)
Hips = at least 3 inches (7.6cm)
Thighs= at least 1 inch each (2.5cm)
Neck = half an inch+ (1.25cm)

How do I feel about that? Good but also disappointed that it should have been more. (Plateaued since September). Now I have started religiously going to the gym I hope to see this plateau broken and weight loss continue.

My next appointment with my specialist/surgeon is in 4 days, it is there that I will find out if losing 32lbs is enough for me to have my surgery. I will continue 5:2 or a form of intermittent fasting to my grave as I feel so much better and find it easier to adapt it to my lifestyle.

edited as I couldn't add up it seems, or take away for that matter.
Hi Caro..
Details for November:-
I lost 4.08 k ( 9 lbs) and 7.6 cms( 3 inches) from my waist during November. Sorry i have no data on body fat.

Lost nothing for five weeks
From 25 September to 8th December have lost 11.33 k ( 25 pounds) and 20.34cm (8.01 inches) from my waist.

I feel very happy with a loss of 25 pounds in 10 weeks and three days
Still got a long way to go but one day at a time,one step at a time!
Very grateful to @Moogie @Caroreesand all my lovely chums on this forum for all their help and support.
Happy Christmas everyone! XX
@CandiceMarie
:victory: :victory: Wowee! congratulations on beating your Christmas target by 4 lbs and still a fortnight to go! You are turning into The Incredible Shrinking Woman! xx
Thanks Cally x and am thrilled to bits ive lost 25 lbs in ten weeks..2.5 a week!
I know its only coz i' m such a fat lump but at least i'm now a smaller fat lump ;0) hehe!
In November I lost 1kg700, I'm afraid I've lost my tape measure so I can't tell you my waist measurement.

I've lost 8 kilos since the end of April, but I was maintaining for August, September and October, so have only really been doing 5:2 for a bit less than 5 months, or 22 weeks.

As for how I feel...I feel like I've finally found a way to control my weight which works, and I'm so happy to have finally lost the weight I put on when I was pregnant with my son, who's 5! This is the first time in a long time that I feel happy with myself!

November 1: weight 65.2 kg, waist 80.5 cm
since November 13, my stats haven't changed: weight 64.2 kg, waist 80.5, so
loss from November to December 1 kg, waist the same

Started 5:2 on March 13: weight 85 kg, waist 108 cm, BMI 32.79
Today: weight 64.2 kg, waist 80.5 cm, BMI 24.77
Total loss to date (in almost nine months) 20.8 kg, 27.5 cm and 8.02 points! :smile:

I am absolutely thrilled by how well 5:2 has worked for me. I feel fantastic and even though I'm still 1.2 kg away from my goal weight I'm not really fussed about when (or even if) I get there. I feel my body is stabilising itself and have noticed that even after indulgent days my weight only goes up a little and easily gets back to the 'status quo' in a day or two. I love this WOE! :heart:

Thank you Caroline for all your hard work in compiling the statistics! :heart:
