Maybe you are holding water from your exercise. At least you did it! Well done girl

Thanks tracie, I'm not man enough to run in the general public yet! So the treadmill is my best friend. Looking at repeating tomorrow with a lot more deeper stretches afterwards then a shopping trip with me daughter.
@rawkaren yes I'll take that. "It's the water again"
@ADFNFUEL do I really need those, I thought they were just for pros.

Not at all, but after rereading and realizing my potential interpretation error, my reply was too brief. It depends on what hurts. If muscles from too-much running, too-soon, then careful static stretching, foam roller, or hand kneading the tender places can be very helpful. If (post surgery) stomach area then compression shorts can definitely provide appreciated support - both physically and psychologically.

Just read your posts here, really interesting and good to see the recovery is almost complete! How do you find the treadmill as I get really bored; I'd love to do it as I can't run outside (too hot) but don't seem to be able to sustain the interest.
Look forward to reading more about the return of the Oates!!

@Debs I do find it a bit boring at times. But I've got teenagers with very up to date music selection on our shared iTunes account. So sometimes, I'm running along to some very heavy dub step, a bit of Robbie Williams, the commitments, deacon blue, rhianna, Michael Jackson.
.
@Sue.Q thanks my bits or my"lady parts" as my daughter calls them are fine thanks.

Did 5k river walk yesterday, dragged my daughter along. She kept saying "mum I can't do this" lol we got stuck in the mud and we tried skipping along but I couldn't get my knees to go up high enough. Sorry you had to be there.

I went back to work today 10-1, a fast day too. So I'm now tired and cold. Hot choc, bouillon and a blanket now. I spent most of is time dodging biscuits, chocolates and cakes. Didn't get much work done, played about with some lungs, recharged some data loggers and watered some plants. The best bit was tricking one of my teachers who'd asked to see someone else. I walked into the full, quiet, classroom and he beamed such a lovely smile, he said he'd missed me in front of his whole year 11 class.

Then everyone started eating their lunch and I went home.
Knackered now though :sleepy:

1. Work, a week back part time now completed. And all is well. I can be a bit tired some afternoon. :victory:

1. Exercise, a week back at classes, only morning ones, just a single run so far. No adverse effects, no aches, no pains. Super.

3. Nookie. :like:

So now I'm back to fairly normal activity, I'm hoping my scales will continue to be nice to me. But essentially I feel happy.,

I had to have a bit of a snigger as I imagined your teenagers reading this and going Uuurrrggghhh Mum when they read the nookie bit!!!!
Great to see you are almost at full throttle again, but take it easy won't you? (Mum voice!)

Can't believe its 8 weeks after surgery and still needing the occasional kip.
Stood on the doorstep chatting to my postie just after my prawn and mackerel salad. I was freezing, and had a nice little sleep, only 25 mins, but my hands were very cold after. I do suffer from raynaulds, but not usually indoors, wrapped in my blanket.
Be warned anyone having a general anaesthetic when they say 6 months to get it out of your system, they're not exaggerating.
Hot choc time me thinks.

You're doing incredibly well Carie but make sure you still pamper yourself from time to time and don't try to be Wonder Woman! (well not just yet anyway!) x
