Ok, so the results of the poll for an official forum weigh day, for those who are trying to lose weight, has revealed that many people think its a good idea with the majority liking once a month as the best option.

I am, therefore, declaring March 2nd as our first official weigh in day. Thereafter it will be the first Saturday of the month. I have chosen a Saturday because very few people fast at the weekend (I wanted it to be a non-fast day). If you hate Saturday as the weigh in day, you can post results from Friday if you prefer.

As not everyone weighs and as waist measurement is a better indicator of fat loss, we will declare either or both weight and waist.

So, I'll start a thread for the weigh in on Friday evening and will lock it on Monday morning. While it is active you are welcome to post your weigh in details. Please include: current weight and/or waist and how that has changed since last month (if you have info on your Feb 2nd weight/waist). Also your starting stats and target stats if you like and any other comment.

On Monday, I'll add up the total lbs and inches lost between us over the month so we can be suitably amazed!

Comments?
Great idea. I'll put a reminder on my phone. :)
Loving it. I only get weighed once a month anyway and that was to be my next weigh day.
I've just put a reminder on my phone too.
My scales are hidden at the bottom of my wardrobe, and don't intend to stand on them until then as I was getting on them a little too often to be healthy!
That's perfect for me, Saturday is usually my weigh-in day! See you all then :)
That'll work for me too. Sunday is my official monthly check, first Sunday of the month so I won't miss it. Ooh, it's exciting to think of how much we've cumulatively shifted.
Hello

Just a thought, can you ask "geeks" to interrogate the progress tracker?

You could then encourage everyone to update the progress tracker once a month at least then?

I like graphs you see, accountancy background!
What a great idea. I am sooo bad at anything "techie" so don't know how to remind myself of weigh in and waist measurements on my phone :? But I'll do it the old fashioned way + write it on my kitchen calender  . Looking forward to March 2nd. Still working my way around this site.....so bear with me.

Well done you guys for keeping us all in the picture and doing all the technical wizardly stuff, it is much appreciated even tho I can't fully grasp it or use it all.

I feel SO good after yesterday's fast and the positive feedback from the gym staff that I can hop, skip and jump all around the place today. I was up early with hubby and made his breakfast SHOCK! HORROR! He can't remember the last tme I did that on his work day.

Have got all the washing done and its all hanging up to dry. Dishwasher unpacked. Plants all watered too. Off to see a friend for coffee. Have a lot of paper work to catch up on. Then cycle on my static bike - maybe read the paper during that 30 mins. Will get the ironing done before cooking salmon for dinner. I've just realised that I forgot to include lunch! Maybe not have one IF I'm not hungry for it after coffee with my friend?

Have a great day everyone :D
This is great - thank you carorees + all involved in this - where would we/this site be without you all and your expertise. Not sure I understand the techie side either, but I'll try my best to learn - can certainly manage to update my details - don't quite understand the progress tracker for the site, but it looks pretty  Thanks again folks, what you're doing here is making the planet a lighter place :)
Well done you Bala5057, can I come? :P
That's great, I will be getting weighed on Thurs 28th of Feb as my first weigh in but I will post results here so you can add them to the tally.
As for the tracker....well I'll do my best probably wont update that till the week-end.
Thank you for all your help and hard work :)

Good idea! I'll ask Moogie if it can be done.
Thanks Caro..I also think a monthly weigh in is the way forward. I honestly don't understand why people give up after just a few weeks...it takes months and years to put the weight ON and so of course it wont be a fast removal - without surgery! - I am sticking with this for ever as fast days make so much sense. I am overweight as I hit the bread bin during 18 unhappily married years, and so of course I am FAT ! I am now happily divorced and content with my life so no need to eat myself to death any more and a healthy lifestyle is what I want WITHOUT the word DIET in it..This forum is brilliant as I have found others aren't losing weight fast either...Let's just see what we are all like in July - It just makes too much sense to drop this. LET'S DO IT !
Yes Monty you could have come for coffee (is that what you wanted to come to?). I had a piece of gluten free chocolate cake with my coffee this morning. My friend has probs with wheat - think she's a celiac sufferer :?:

I came home to tackle the paperwork -hate that job- would rather do ironing. Organised jabs for a holiday to India in March. Ate 2 wholemeal wraps dipped into left over dhal, for my lunch. YUM!

Have drunk black coffee (hate milk), peppermint tea and lots of water. Dinner tonight is Tesco Salmon Fillet with a parmeson crumb, topped with garlic & herb butter. We're having spinach cooked in a drizzle of olive oil + onion. Also steamed asparagus & Jerusalem artichokes (mashed). Have never tried cooking Jerusalem artichokes and have never ever bought Tesco's ready prepared salmon fillets.

I'm still on a high and am convinced it's because I've upped my excercise. What do you guys think?
A monthly weigh in is a great idea. I had to hide my scales, they used to sit there in the bathroom, beckoning...and sometimes I just couldn't resist, then I would be upset if I hadn't lost weight - I'm sure many people are the same - so I hid them, the theory being out of sight out of mind. Amazingly it worked, and now I'm not sure where I put them.
I'm sure I can find them by Saturday, then I will re-hide them for another month
