He's not a singular voice. Dr.Davis a cardio doctor wrote the 'Wheat Belly' book. That book is what re-wrote a lot of my thinking about carbohydrates and fats. Plus eating as naturally as possibly. He goes into quite a bit of detail about what carbs and especially modern wheat does to the human body and backs it up with pages of references to medical papers.

Fascinating Julie, thanks. I had no idea about all that. Before 5:2 I felt that a heart attack was my destiny but not anymore! I already use olive oil and have just started to use butter- my favorite is Aldi's organic salted butter. I'll have to go see if it's from grass fed cows. It's really good!

Thank you very much for the article! It completely makes sense. And this doctor is very brave to write about this. His example with a brush is very impressive - just imagine this!Shudders...

Bottom line is, refined and processed foods are ultimately not good for us so is Dr Lundell wrong for telling us not to eat them? I don't think so.
Thanks, well spotted. I can't find any scientific publications by him, and his medical license was revoked after repeated run-ins with the medical examiner's board. Of course that doesn't mean that his advice is wrong. As long as it agrees with advice from more reliable sources.
Just been going through the old threads in the 5:2 lab and found that this topic had been covered before and some members had found some interesting info about the doctor concerned, so I'm flagging it here.
