I must say I enjoy the recording, charts, trends and analysis as much as I enjoy my new figure. Its been a really interesting project and I love my records, as well as the mass analysis from everyone who shares in this site.

*ahem* just tweaked my tracker and updated my results....
I'm not mathematically minded at all so charts don't really interest me much. I'll try and remember to keep it updated every couple of weeks so you've got some better figures to go on. And speaking of better figures - yes this diet works!!! I have just bought a dress I tried on in April but didn't get because I thought it made me look fat. Looks great now

Well I too like the tracker. Its simple, easy to use and easy to interpret. If you stick to the diet it works - s l o w l y. But quick weight loss is not sustainable, so this is healthy. My husband on the other hand seems to be dropping weight quickly on the 5:2. Boo Hiss!!! But I am proud of him and will continue this way of life myself cause it makes me feel in control.
Moogie thank you + your tracker is fine for me simple + plain maybe but definitely understandable
Ken you have far to much time on your hands!! Sue

Hadn't thought of adding the notes onto the tracker data points, that should be possible. Nice one.
As for the trend line, that's a Google built in feature, no options really aside from aesthetics. I'd have to look at how to trend the figures manually to add a custom trend line.
I know the tracker is relatively simple compared with some charting apps etc, but just as the diet is simple and accessible to the masses, I want the tracker to be too. I don't think the majority want it too complicated. I know I can't please everyone so it won't be to everyone's taste but I think most people like it.
If all that made sense I'm amazed with myself, I've had a bit more wine tonight than normal I'm inclined to go tinker a bit with the tracker now but it's probably not wise right now!

Oh no, Moogie, don't go near the tracker if you're tipsy! We don't want to wake up tomorrow to find we've all apparently put on 20lb or something!
I like numbers and statistics so much that I do both! I input data into the tracker once a week to help out the forum statistics but use Lumen Trails to simultaneously trend several variables in addition to weight.
I have been on this forum and doing 5:2 for a couple of months. One time, I tried to do the tracker and found the questions to be cumbersome and the total questionnaire rather long. If you simplified it, I might report my stats, but as it is, it is too much of a pain. I am happy with my success on 5:2 and have continued to lose--sometimes more, sometimes less but the trend is downward. My BMI is in the normal range (started out slightly in the overweight range) and I am petite, so I don't expect to drop big amounts. But I am happy with the progress.
I think you've got Caroline's questionnaire confused with the tracker - there aren't questions as such on the tracker, you just tell it your age, gender, height, weight, activity level and measurement preference (imperial of metric) the other fields like body fat, waist and your goals are optional. Setting up your tracker should take no more than a couple of minutes and adding weigh data need only take seconds!
I admit that I started the questionnaire and didn't finish it either but the Tracker is VERY easy! I input my weight once a week but if you guys think it will be more useful I can do it daily!

Just use this link and you are straight to the page where you add your data: tracker.php?p=update&act=add
and here is the link to view your chart: tracker.php?p=main
You can save them as 'bookmarks' or 'favorites' if you like. Not too hard was it?
Moogie, picking up on kencc's suggestion, is it possible to allow members to tailor their Main Menu and User Menu options? So that we could each remove or add some menu choices (including 'Add Weigh-In Data' or a direct link to a favoured forum) for our personal view? Because I think the menus are long enough already and just adding more permanent items that might only appeal to a minority would not be a good idea.
