Re: The Tracker Entry of Shame

Right...I technically have lost weight (2 ibs down since 18/12) due to doing extremely long hours in an active job, but I am feeling constantly hungry. Fast days are a challenge to keep to 500 calories, and I've been eating anywhere from 500-800 on them lol. On non-fast days I'm pretty much eating at maintenance (around 1550 calories I believe). I'm ok with that; I'm still losing weight and even with additional calories on fast days I'll be losing. Just not a lot.

Then again, I have been doing ADF for 8 months now. Eight months of eating 500 calories every other day, and never really having hunger pangs. I've never had that before to be honest, lol. Oh well, seeing as I just have 5 ibs I want to lose I might just lose it slowly and learn to eat at maintenance for the coming months. Listening to my body, and my body seems to want a bit more.

Happy New Year all.
Just stood on the scales for the first time since 19th Dec. How is it even possible to put on half a stone in 2weeks?
Emergency action is called for!

It's not, most of it will go away real quick. I'm fasting today and drink a lot of fluids and already I see the bloating lessen significantly.

Yes, I'm thinking exactly about the same.

You see!@barbarita, you are not alone, and non of us has the BMI you have. I have gained 2.5 klgs since last year and can not do anything about it except adjusting my goal. The fact that you are that slim must make you very proud. Happy New Year. :clover: :clover:

I gained 5lb over Christmas week. Not as bad as last year.

You are not alone! I'm 3lbs over my maintenance limit too. I need to shift 5lb to be where I was pre-Christmas. My mission starts tomorrow

I've decided to try to keep to just below my TDEE for the first week or two and I'm entering everything on CalorieCount, so I can't cheat!

I'm also leaving it for a few more days before I weigh. By then I should see the 'real' rather than water weight gain...

I got myself on the scale yesterday and suprisingly, I'm only 1,5 kg up from my lowest weight :-o Given that TOM is here, I call it success :)

I think I can safely say that one of the surplus pounds has gone. By Sunday it looked like 2 but then I came across a Christmas indulgence in the back of the fridge ... 2 lbs to the top of my range.

This really made me smile...only 2 pounds. I would rather offer you congratulations for highlighting this.
My tracking shame is way way worse. I can confess to being 22 pounds over, since my last tracking. I checked in for the first time yesterday since some time in 2013...how crazy is that? The great news is this. I am back, and feeling excited about rediscovering the real me.
All the best from Switzerland.

@harrij19, you sound so determined, I hope your surplus pounds have gone by the summer :clover:

Oh yes! It really hurt to post on the tracker after quite a while out of touch and see that sharp upturn-- And, yes, the unaccustomed carbs and sugars (although much less than a normal Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's period) has certainly upset my digestion. This morning I was able to post a .8 lb lo.wer weight and make that line turn down just the tiniest bit, and it made me much happier. So I am working on my "non-engagement" with ups and downs and just getting back into the Way Of Living that is 5:2 (5:3 this week).

So virtual hugs to all of you. Keep calm and carry on--at least that's what I'm aiming for.

Today is my 1st weigh in following an extended family Christmas and week away with friends for New Year. Yesterday was my first day without an alcoholic drink for more than a fortnight. I have done a few eating windows where possible but no proper fasts. Given the circumstances a gain of 3lbs is not as bad as I thought it might be but it will take several months to shift I expect. Back on track from today!
