Well done to you, I had a official health check with my company this week, and I had gained 2.5kg and my measurments had gone up quite drastically so I am determined to give this a good go. Tried all the rest and yes they may work but you have to count all the time. So good luck to you all, I have never joined a forum before so am looking forward to the support. Looking forward to my roast haddock and poached egg with broccoli spears. Yum!!

I started to have a wee binge last feed day so took the dogs out for a short walk, even though it was nearly dark. If you habitually snack somewhere, try moving or exercising, distraction is key with the WoE.
Headaches are very common, may need more hydration and maybe a wee bit of salt. There's a FAQ with lots on this. The also body struggles to switch into fat burning too, harder if you are a bit dodgy on the insulin resistance front until you adapt to the WoE.

Glad to say the 4 chocolate mousse and 2 custard tarts were seen off by this manoeuvre and I've lost weight this week.

Thank you everyone for the support and welcome to the newbies too
We can all do this together and get all nice and healthy - and by the time the Aussie Summer comes around again I won't have to hide away, but will be able to play and swim with my kids at the beach like the skinny mums do

Hi Kaz,

I've found the forum a great support-even when I'm just reading others' posts it helps me stay on track-and I hope you will too.

I too think it is easier to break a large weight loss into manageable chunks. set 'mini-goals' for yourself of say, 1 stone at a time, or 20 pounds, or getting the the next level on the BMI chart. This definitely helps me.

I need to lose 100lbs or so too so am in the same boat as you

Hi Kaz, My BMI was 46 when I started this in August - I have dropped nearly 4stone since then, so I am proof it can be done - stick with it - getting support helps a lot. Set yourself targets that you can reach in a relatively short time - it makes it feel more manageable than thinking about the big picture at the beginning. Good luck, you can do it.

I would like to make an announcement *dutt de de daaa* (thats a trumpet in case you didn't realise)
I am no longer morbidly obese
I am still working my way through too many years of excess, but one day at a time

Great! Well done!
I was too, 37 when I started and it's fab not to be in that place anymore.
BTW, if you can do 30 jumping jacks, you could pretty much do any class anywhere!
