Was thinking something awful had happened today (day after my fast) because I seemed to be feeling hungry after having dinner and dessert. Then I totted up my calories so far...1330...well under TDEE, so that's why I was still peckish! Had a couple of pieces of dark chilli chocolate and now I feel full!

Not for me, I found that food the day after tastes a hundred times better and I savour every bite/spoonful I just find that I can only eat small portions!
I find it very interesting the majority of you have had the same experience as me but a couple have not. My hubby has not either. I really hope it will kick in for him as well! thanks for all the input, great community here!
Doey, I hope that I will never, ever, lose this love for food. Not any food, but good food, food prepared with good ingredients and love is something that we should enjoy and cherish, not wish we didn't like it.
Cooking is an art, the result of this art is the food we eat, it would be such a shame if we found that it is not appealing.
That's my twopence anyway...

I do love food, but not all food equally. I have lost the taste for white rice, white bread and biscuits. I still eat pasta, but much smaller portions, and now I enjoy wholemeal pasta, something I found revolting a few months ago. I still enjoy red wine, but no longer like the taste of vodka probably because I find the mixers too sweet now. Can't say the same about scotch though but then I never added anything to that - I am Scottish after all! Mmm..a nice peaty, single malt. I enjoy food more now I would say, just my tastes have changed a bit (and for the better!) Many fewer cravings and calories consumed is the way to go for me, but not at the expense of enjoyment of food. I have always been interested in cooking, and I am a good cook, but over the years had gotten into the habit of cooking the same favourites, now I am casting my net far and wide and trying different recipes and loving all the different flavours and varieties of food. When I talk about feeling reset I don't see it as having lost anything, (apart from weight!) but having gained a new pleasure and freedom in food.
I agree, I find that now food tastes better than it did before! I want it more on fast days and I appreciate it more on the rest of the days.
This diet after only 2 weeks has definitely changed my way of thinking about food and treats on non eating days
Haven't bought ice cream since I started and don't miss it. Was eating a bowl a day. No wonder I was gaining a kilo or so every few months in the past 12 months.

TML I'm with you. I haven't lost any of my love of food - good food. I love cooking and eating, all fresh beautiful ingredients. Sigh - and so I fast so I can eat.
Same here! I even managed to touch up my fast days porridge. Either with lettuce and spring onions, or with tomato and basil, or even with chillies.
TML what you are doing to your porridge is sacrilege Chillies, spring onions, lettuce and ppporidge. Aaargh!! Take some pinhead oats, soak overnight in water, cook slowly, stir lovingly and add a wee pinch of salt. Now you're talking!
Yesterday was a day after a fast for me and I could not get satisfied! Though when I thought back over what I did have it didn't go as insane as it felt at the time (probably because it felt like a lot compared to a fast day). I weighed this morning and was only up a tiny bit, where I felt like I should be up 2lbs from eating so much and the water weight that would come with overdoing it. So maybe things are changing. I was shocked how hungry I felt though. This was after my 4th fast day, the other fast days I don't remember being like that so much.
Dhana, unfortunately I live in Greece, not in Scotland! The only oats we have here is Quaker. But I'm fairly satisfied with them!
TML, quaker oats will do in a pinch, but with lettuce, chilli, spring onions? This is as shocking as those chefs who make whisky sauce by taking good scotch and adding goodness knows what to it and then pouring it over some poor wee duck!!!

Perish the thought Juliana ........That's definitely NOT me - could still demolish a whole tub of Ben & Jerry's no problem (but I don't just smaller portions)
Doey - so agree! Had not eaten an orange for enjoyment (only for fibre) until started doing 5:2 back in Feb- now they are my fave fruit! Just had one after lunch- can never remember them tasting so lovely
Btw had one of those malteasers bars, found it completely overly sweet and gopping, so left half of it- unheard of to have uneaten chocolate in this house!
