Job done! Also, I can set up a little tent within a tent and do Tarot card readings for anyone who wants to visit me, no need to cross my palm with silver, paper will do nicely thanks

Ballerina x

Oooo that sounds like fun
Sorry I'm late @PennyForThem, I'm really more of a Hogmanay person, but may I do some low-carb alternatives to mince pies ? I can't resist mince pies, but have managed to avoid having a single one so far. Haven't finalised the recipe yet, but these would be rich berry fruits (no sugar, sweetened with dates / apricots as needed) and nuts, with almond flour pastry based, with a brandy cream topping - probably quite calorific but hopefully not too carbiferous.

And I've just ordered Celia Brooks Brown's "Vegetarian Party Food" so that I can do the food for the Hogmanay celebrations... Anyone up for organising a party for the bells?
Status report: have cut and sewn like crazy, sandwiched and quilted until my Janome turned a shade of red out of exhaustion, so now what's left is the binding.

Sam came home yesterday = all is well and my mama heart is at peace

@FatDog we two could possibly be the only two people in the UK who havent yet had a mince pie!
Lovin the sound of yr recipe x
Nope, make that 3. No pince mies here either!

Me too, but am putting that to rights this afternoon
Oooh I've had gluten free ones that are a bit heavy, which is good 'cos I've eaten a lot less than usual.
Stay safe in the coming storms UKers :0@
Roll up your sleeves, pixies, elves and Santa's helpers; less than 48 hours till Christmas starts somewhere in the world.
My cheeses are perfect, chutneys are matured (bit like me really) crackers are crackers (oh, a bit more like me then), and liqueuers are ready for the coffees.
I'm going to make Limoncello ice cream today - shall I make a bit more for anyone who'd like a thimbleful with the puds?
I'm expecting to find the Waitrose shelves crammed with mincey pies seeing as so many of us havent had one yet! X
Oh well done everybody palpitations have calmed down now I have managed to come out of the dark corner and even stopped sucking my thumb. I am proud of you all. :like:
*Mops brow* our panicker in chief has calmed down. We'll all be alright!
PFT - this must have been before your encounter with the nowty man at the petrol station!
Oh don't remind me, SD. For such a short trip out, it was horrid! I'm just calming down now. I could have done with @Nessie to help me panic!
For the benefit of those not in the know, Penny had a very unpleasant encounter when she went out earlier today to get some petrol. She was harangued, yes, you read that right, she was harangued by some unpleasant chap on the forecourt. I advised her by PM that she really should learn from this rather unsavoury altercation and desist, immediately, from siphoning petrol from other peoples cars. I now hope she has indeed learned to behave herself

Ballerina x

Penny, sorry to make this such a public thing but petrol rustling has to be stamped out
